It was in Argos, reduced, it is actually made by Simple human and looking on the web it is waaaay cheaper than most outlets for exactly the same product.

It is just wonderful. 'Commercial grade bearings'

here you go

I bet they are all gone by morning!!

I actually got rid of our old bin because it was TOO big - about a 25l? Also used to get stuck getting the liner out as it caught on the handle, so removed handle and then couldn't get bucket out!

It wasn't a brabantia though...

No lid is good I think as long as it is small enough to be emptied every day. That way it shouldn't stink too much...I hope...

ooh i like the bin company website.

PeaMcLean · 10/10/2008 20:31

Nope, I'm still not inspired.

See, at the moment, I have three bins in my kitchen.

A small one for food waste. Has to be tiny cos of the small bags provided for it.

A "green" one for general recycling - we don't have to separate out here.

A "black" one for everything else.

How am I going to fit all those in my new kitchen without emptying the blessed things every other day?

whomovedmychocolate · 10/10/2008 20:35

Oh perleeeeeaze - it's a bin. You put rubbish in it. Talk about polishing a turd

We have a v stylish bin, chromed stainless steel, v expensive, smart - you walk up to it and it opens. But you know what? It's still a bin.

We'll be on lego porn next!

ShinyPinkShoes · 10/10/2008 20:35

I have got this bin from Tesco's and it is absolutely brilliant!

Divvy · 10/10/2008 20:35

as its got bearings, does it glide out?

mehgalegs · 10/10/2008 20:38

Big bins bad. Big bins smell. I have a carrier bag hanging on a nail in the back porch.

southeastastra · 10/10/2008 20:42

i only have a small pedal bin, had my fill of large bins

i wish there was a site like the bin one, but for laundry baskets

pushchair · 10/10/2008 20:50

like the tesco one and more my price.

Divvy · 10/10/2008 20:53

fab - can you take a photo of it fitted please? one with it and one with it out?

bonkerz · 10/10/2008 20:58

my sis has the op bin! Its good but small!!!!!!!!!!

WendyWeber · 10/10/2008 21:07

We have always had a small under-sink bin - with lid which closes automatically - for smelly waste, plus a large swingbin for everything else; this works fine, except for visitors who smoke outside the house & then empty their ashtrays into it, or scrape plates into it...

Anyway the under-sink bin has pretty much disntegrated after 10 years of people (male) trying to force too much into it; I've just bought this Brabantia one from amazon which will hold about twice as much smelly stuff, has a tight-closing lid, & will stand next to the swingbin.

Male members of the household will need instructions

We had this one for about 10 years and it looked great but needed emptying quite often:

We now have this one:

but still coveting a Vipp, despite their crap capacity - 18 litres compared to 50?
