School portraits/photographs - how do you display yours or do you ?

simply that really. I seem to be aquiring quite a collection of them and wondered if anyone has found a way of making them look smart /chic/ stylish rather than the faux gilt edged frame type approach. They are lovely photos but I'm not sure what to do with them as I tend to prefer the natural unposed photos. Where are yours? Or are they gathering dust in the drawer?

I have a dream....... to get them all printed out small and then stick them round the top of the kitchen wall, along with mine and dh's

I don't even buy them I really really do't like school photos .
I did have one from one ds was in reception he is 10 now and I had that in a silver frame .

I havnt got any school photos yet, but have a gallery up the stairs.

I am thinking about a digital frame for all the school ones

We have 2 curved glass frames on teh mantle. One of them has DTD's (most recent) school photo in. One has DD3's most recent PixiPhoto thing in.

The old pictures are just put upstairs amongst the photoframes.

I did't like the "traditional" sit on a bench smile at the camera type photo's so only bought their reception phot originally. Now they have a modern style photographer (think Venture) and they are great. They do the traditional head and shoulders shot - but also some my unusal positions.

I think last years I brought one where they are laying on their tummy's together and a pose where they we sat back to back legs bent at the knees.

They really suit the syle of picture frame we use because it is modern and funky.

It is fab. Much better than a head and shoulders shot on a blue/grey mottled backdrop.

Thanks, I think DoNotAnnoy may have the answer to the way forward ie get the school to do more casual photography!!

I only display the current ones. All the rest (and dear me, there are drawers of them) I am storing up until the children have grown up. When I married dh, MIL gave him an album of all his school photos, plus a few snaps of him in his boyhood and it is lovely to look through it and see him (and his classmates) growing up. I intend to do one each for my children.

Just looked around my house and I don't have any on display!

The nursery one: I love and will find a frame eventually for it!

Reception: Ds looks so sad and tired!!

Yr 1: I didn't buy because he looked almost identical to the year before and I take nicer photos of him!!

DNA - that photographer looks great, I think I might send a link to ds' school. I'd much prefer a photo like that.
