If I don't want to fork out for dry-cleaning...

Is it safe for me to put a silk/linen blend sweater in the washing machine on a cold delicate wash? Or am I best off hand-washing it?

Or do I have to get it dry-cleaned?

Do you have a tumble dryer?

I have used home dry cleaning kits in the past.

I would hand wash not machine tho i would put into a knotted closed pillowcase for a fast spin after rinsing.

Yes I do have a tumble dryer - didn't know you could get home kits - will investigate!

Hand wash it is then. I've got about 5 of these sweaters and don't want to have to fork out for dry-cleaning for all of them (yes I know, I shouldn't have bought them!).
