Nail varnish on my duvet cover

Is there anything that can get it out? My SIL just came to stay and I gave her my nicest and newest duvet cover and she spilled her nicest and newest DARK BLUE nail varnish over a big chunk of it. The cover is cream and 100% cotton.

She did buy me a new one but it's a cheapie from Matalan . Not quite the same as my fabulous one.

I've looked for such a one but not seen it. But we live in a small town. I'm going to try googling it. Thanks for your reply, Lucysmam.

Oh for goodness sake. I've just googlesd it and it says try nail varnish remover (acetone based/non-greasy). DOH!

I'l try it tomorrow.

i've tried that before, ended up more of a purpley smudge than removing it! is there a wilko's or do you shop at a major supermarket? they normally stock a range of them

Nail varnish is a nightmare. Some was spilled on my carpet and teh upholstery cleaning specialist said that nothing will shift it, unless you get nail varnish remover on it before it dries but even then, it's a bugger.

Nail varnish and irn bru were unremovable, he said. Sorry.

fairydust · 21/08/2008 21:11

i'm sorry but i tried everything and nothing came off when dd got bright red on hers last yr

southeastastra · 21/08/2008 21:11

can't you just turn it over

LaTrucha · 21/08/2008 22:00

Bum. I thought it might just smudge.

I could just turn it over, but it's got a kind of pleated design on the 'up' side, which is why I bought it.

IME....

Bright red-pink on a white duvet cover

Nail varnish remover to begin with (when still fresh) and then it did eventually come out with repeated washing

But I mean washing once a week for several months...

Wow! You're patient. Thanks for the tip.
