How do you do it?

DD has wee-ed twice on the carpet this week and I can't get the smell out

vinegar in water

So you sponge it on, rub and then soak up the remains?

What is the ratio of vinegar to water?

Check on an area of the carpet in case it does anything to the colour.........

Spray the area with water-lightly.
Smother with bicarb of soda.
Leave over night.
Hoover up in the morning.
Works on sick smells as well.

or you could try the spray they sell in pet shops ( and prob. supermarkets) for dealing with pet accident smells

That was on the Clean House programme with Aggie and the other one recently. What was it she used? It was very effective. Was it bicarb? She got a cloth, spread it over wee area, tramped on it (or press/scrub), lift, see all teh muck, smell pissy cloth, open eyes in wonder, repewat as necessary.

But what did she use on teh cloth?

It was soda water on HCIYH

pointydog · 20/08/2008 21:11

aj, thanks Liz! The result looked impressive.
