Scatty we are in your neck of the woods, Northumbria near Hadrians Wall.

Planning on viting Alnick Castle (Tesco Deals), Alnick Gardens, Banburgh Castle at least!!

That'll be great Madhouse and probably the quietest part of the country to go on a bank holiday. Hope the weather is good (was fine all day today).

lucysmam · 20/08/2008 19:47

Good evening all

Ruby how's your back now?

Loopy well done with potty training, I'm dreading trying it with my lo

well, I've decluttered paperwork and shredded what's to go in the recycling box. Just needs filing tomorrow now and then thats done. Also decluttered airing cupboard completely and was very gutted to find that the box with my lo's bits and pieces from being a tiny baby (which i thought was at mil's) was in there when it flooded and half of it is ruined beyond repair so feeling a bit upset tonight.

baked some bread, played play d'oh with lo for a couple of hours, walked to shops, another very long walk without the buggy! other than that, lots of pottering and bits done as well

Hi all Lucys about your tiny clothes. That's a pity. I've just been looking through the nappies and have a few I can send, and I should have a couple of waterproof covers/wraps. Do you want me to wash them first - or will you do that? They are clean, but have been stored, so need a bit of a freshen-up.
Loopy that's great news about the DD on the potty/loo. How old is she?
Scatty I'm not training for anything, but Greyskull recommended this so I am redoing week one because it all went poo last week - visitors mainly.
Don't fancy a bit of a jog do you?
Ruby that sounds like a fab job. Have you posted a thread for it? I'm afraid I don't have the foggiest about fundraising. I was a bit worried when you said you were thinking about going commando, in case you had that black stuff on your face and a camouflage net over you.

Tonight
Have to do hotspots, washing up and laundry on
MUST do one tile, because I am avoiding them and they keep looking at me.

Did anyone do babysteps twice?
I'm quite near the end, but I feel like doing it again, because I'm scared to do all those zones and things. [hides] But also I don't know if I did them all properly.

lucysmam · 20/08/2008 21:35

Ruby it's not so much the clothes I'm bothered about, I'd kept her wristband and little had they made out of tube-bandage type stuff and new baby cards and pics they took before taking her to scbu in the box too and some of them are gone. But never mind, I still have my little monster

Rowingboat I could wash myself, thats no problem at all!!!! how much do you want for them so i can account in my budget? how are tiles going?? if we'd done proper tiles I can imagine I would have avoided them too, daren't do anything like that

I'm just off to finish tea pots, lost interest half way through and made cuppas instead!

littlemissloopy · 20/08/2008 21:43

hello I'm liking the Simpsons greetings today

Thanks for all the well done's
DD2 was 3 at the beginning of this month.
I tried potty training when she was about 2 and a half and just starting nursery but she wasn't having any of it!!

DH and I agreed the summer holidays were the best time to try, and after a whole day of wetting her knickers every time...and tantrumming at being asked to sit on the loo/potty I gave up and went to keep fit!! Came home to find she had done it for daddy!! (fairly typical)
Refused the potty all together and opted for the toilet.

She has been brilliant ever since!! 2 nights of nappies until she refused on the 3rd night to put one on....then was dry!!
1 poo accident and a couple of not pulling knickers down far enough and weeing on the tops of them whilst on the loo....but that's about it really. She has even started refusing to let me put her on the loo and making me wait outside while she poos (she is very bossy as you can probably tell )
Unbelievable really, I don't remember my other two getting the hang of it quite so quickly.
(Big relief though I was dreading it!)
You are right too ruby save a load of £ not having to buy nappies!

littlemissloopy · 20/08/2008 22:34

Hmmm......... I don't suppose anyone has any girls long sleeve tops or jumpers for a 3/4 year old they are wanting to sell?

I have been sorting out the kids clothes and my DD2 is in need of long sleeve tops and jumpers. I have spent a small fortune on coats, underwear, shoes, bags and lunchbags and really can't go buying more brand new bits for DD2. I have just spent the last hour and a half trauling through Ebay but nothing really there.

Gah! Why do kids need so much stuff!??

Jas · 20/08/2008 22:38

[SMILE] LML THAT SOUNDS LIKE TEXTBOOK POTTY TRAINING TO ME. WELL WORTH LEAVI9NG IT UNTIL THEY ARE READY. (SAYS THE MOTHER OF 2.6 YR OLD DS WITH NO INTENTION OF TRYING JUST YET.

Sorry. Just looked up and saw caps nad too lazy to retype

Lucysmam - I posted a small envelope of paper liners for you to tryand if they are worth it you can have the rest, and my popper napy for freee whne I come back from hols, and have more money.
Sorry you've lost baby bits.

DP is still working and should get some money tomorrow, and bank have extended my od so we can go without spending ds' saviongs now
He also has a new tumble dryer and a dishwasher to bring home (My td is as old as me, amnd we have no dw) which the lady at the house he is working in wants him to put in a skip Aliong with a nice set of saucepans

Just as well I'm not proud really!

Rowingboat I've done baby steps twice, but not straight after the first time, and think I realy benefitted from the second lot. I may have another go as a refresher once school starts.
I think greyskull has done them at least twice, too.

We had a nice day out (again...no rain today, either) and I managed to clean the car before we went.

Tomorrow the dds are on a drama workshop all day, so I will be doing lots of FLYing and packing.

tortoise · 20/08/2008 22:39

LML I will have a look tomorrow if i have time. Not sure what DD2 has left in smaller sizes.

Taking kids swimming tomorrow. Not got much done today as usual but i did dry 2 loads of washing on the line for once.

Also weighed myself this morning. Am 11st 9. That is around a stone lighter than i was before the bad attacks i had a few weeks ago!

Hope everyone is ok. Haven't been keeping up with threads.

Jas · 20/08/2008 22:39

I'll have a look for tops LML but I think most of dd2s small ones are 5/6. I'll let you know if I find anything.

littlemissloopy · 20/08/2008 22:57

Thank you both

Jas I'm not proud either....our current washing machine had been sitting in the back of a garage for ten years....looks awful...sounds twice as bad, but it does wash clothes so I can't grumble too much!

Jas · 20/08/2008 23:04

My current td was rescued from a skip 10 years ago You have to wedge the door shut with the bin to make it work.

lucysmam · 20/08/2008 23:18

Jas thank-you, don't worry about posting if you don't have the cash spare. or do you have paypal and when we get paid i could send you money for it?

everything here was a 'hand me down' of some variety or other until fil gave us his brand new hardly used sofa and we got new wm and td. most stuff people chuck on a skip is perfectly good!

Loopy i may have some bits and pieces lurking from what dad got me when i was pregnant but it's probably not a lot as most of it was young baby stuff. will have a look in suitcase tomorrow while lo is out with mil and let you know.

well my lo doesn't want to sleep tonight n im knackered and ready for sleep myself so not impressed! oh is watching footy on itv and i don't know what to do . . . possibly too late to start faffing with filing papers away now

littlemissloopy · 20/08/2008 23:27

@ Jas's door wedging

Thanks Lucysmam

I have just found a few things from Adams....they are doing 3 for 2 on some clothing, so I bought two tops and a pair of leggings for £8 so that's not too bad I guess, free postage too.

I'm shattered now...will have to prise myself off the comp! Do you ever get to the point where you are so tired, it is actually eisier to stay exactly where you are rather than attempt to go to bed!??

lucysmam · 20/08/2008 23:30

yup, nightly atm when lo wakes n i crawl into her bed at some daft hour in the morning.

£8 is a bargain, is that just online do you know? my lo could do with a few more bits

Jas · 20/08/2008 23:30

LM - I've benefitted from kind mumsnetters lots of times on here, and am happy to pass stuff on for free.

I'm only doing extra moaning re money because of our holiday, once we get back, dp will get a job, and the tax credits will be paid and I will be fine. I was going to stick a fleece liner in for you, and forgot. They are much better than paper (IMO) and more cosy, but not good in all in one reusables. Worth a try though. I will put one in for you next time. You can just cut up and old fleece jumper/blanket etc if you like them.

Jas · 20/08/2008 23:32

Yes LML - I've been feeling that for a while too, but need to sleep, and, more importantly, need to pee, so I'll log off aND CATCH YOU ALL TOMORROW...

BUGGER. This cheapy keyboard doesn't have a light or indicator so I don't notice when I've hit caps lock. Sorry.

NN all.

lucysmam · 20/08/2008 23:33

Jas would a fleece blanket like a quid shop one do the job?? mil bought us about 6 when lo was born n they've never been used.

lol@extra moaning re money, I know how you feel about dp getting a job, my oh was meant to start his new one a month ago so took 2 weeks off as his notice from old one but has had no start date yet. it's a horrid situation to be in
