Housekeeping

I am really really really sick of my friend

Shes been making sly digs about my house for ages, and today she outright said she didn't want a drink because there were no clean cups in the cupboard. They were on the side pilled up waiting to be washed I was going to rinse it out, there were 2 with mould on them but obviously I would give her a non mouldy recent one which I would rinse. Her dds cardigain dropped on my floor and she made a big show of shaking crumbs off it - just got I dont hoover as much as her, there is no need to be nasty about it. not sure how to deal with her now, am very hurt and angry.

I used to babysit for a lovely woman but I would scrub the cup for ages before making a cup of tea as her house was filthy.

tbh, I don't blame your friend for not wanting a cup of tea from your kitchen.

Though, TBGP makes a good point about her helping to tidy up.

sheaneatfreak, if this isnt a wind up i think you might need to take a look at your cleaning habits, why would you have a cup by your bed for a week?

wind up

If you don't wash your cups properly (hot water and detergent, then rinse) I wouldn't want a drink at your house either. Do some washing up.

as for her helping you to tidy, why should she? she obviously manages to tidy her own house why cant you do yours.
if my friends ever felt they needed to help me tidy because my house was such a shit hole they couldnt even have a drink i would die of shame

ooooooooooooh i'd love one of those chaise longues in my bedroom.

lie there in the afternoon, with a book in a seductive pose.

then the kids wake up from their nap and start screaming and my rolls of fat pop out from my knicker elastic

I've been known to forget cups on my computer desk for a day or two but I certainly wouldn't offer anyone a cup of tea in one of them.

And what's wrong with hoovering every day? I have two dogs, two cats and a parrot that throws seed all over my floor - hoovering every day is a must in my house.

Either.. you are a lazy slattern and you need to wash up/clean your bathroom more often (hoovering less important as you can't actually get ill from standing on dirty carpet as far as i know)

Or.. you are a bored regular in which case i point you in the direction of recent outstanding troll thread by Rhubarb (called
extraordinary dilemma or something?)to help you formulate more convincing trolleries in future.

Washing up is so boring, theres so much more to life. Im not like someone from kim&aggie, theres space to sit, space to walk etc but I dont spend my life cleaning. Sometimes life takes over. Surely no one on here can claim they dont have the odd few weeks where everything goes wrong?

shesaneatfreak - prove you are not a troll. what is on page 215. item number 10 of the mothercare catalogue.

every true mother has one of these. even if they hate the shop.

Don't think anyone finds washing up exciting, but I don't think your mould-dispersal routine is particularly fascinating. AND it takes longer and is therefore self-defeating. Seriously - wash your cups.

And no its not a bloody wind up, have been furious about this since she left. Obviously I have name changed because I knew I would get some stick for my mouldy cups (2 of them, not like the whole kitchen or anything)

Have none of you ever had anything go mouldy then? bread? cups? fruit? its all mould.

ooh wannabe do you live with my mum? i hate looking after her house when she is away. i swear that bird does it deliberately. as soon as i hoover it throws more seed out!!

i hoover at least twice a day with one cat and one dog my mum must spend all day hoovering around the birds cage.

Report
Habbibu · 15/08/2008 22:18

Well yes, but bread and fruit go mouldy very very quickly in some weather - cups don't as a rule.

Report
ravenAK · 15/08/2008 22:18

Not a very good wind up though - no-one's going to care enough to get wound up, surely?

I've actually got a friend like the OP. If I'm round there for a coffee, I do a sinkful of washing up whilst she puts the kettle on!

Assuming it's genuine, then it's unreasonable to be upset that your mate didn't want to drink out of a casually rinsed cup in a kitchen which also contained mouldy cups...

I am a complete Undomestic Goddess and even I'd refuse a drink in your house.

if this is not a wind up then i would guess the op is depressed

have had mouldy cups as well, but because i went away and didnt spot them til i returned

there are worse things in life than an unhoovered carpet, but i would suspect the chaos of her house is reflecting her mental state

Report
wannaBe · 15/08/2008 22:19

he does it deliberately. He sits on his food bowl and eats the food he wants, then when he gets down to the bits he doesn't want he flicks them all over the floor. The hoover makes a crackling noise as it sucks them up.
