EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 14:22

eeeeew at nits.

Dd1 is soooooo excited. We just got these school shoes She loves the toys inside and has named them already. I'm sure every other child will have the same shoe as her but for now she is in heaven

And thanks all, ABs kicking in.

BiancaCastafiore · 13/08/2008 14:25

@ niticulous!

Loopy, my ds is lego mad. He had lots of new sets for his birthday which added to the HUGE box we were given by a friend means we have pieces everywhere!

EHM at your in-laws. My MiL is prone to being pretty dreadful at times..I won't start telling you about her or I'll rant for days

I'm tired and teary today and in need of some peace and quiet. I think I may have a low-level virus of some sort as I've felt run down for days now.

Instead of peace and quiet I have extra children here to play one of which is driving me mad! I like almost every child I meet but this one boy I find really really difficult to have around.

BiancaCastafiore · 13/08/2008 14:26

aww, sweet shoes for dd EHM

TheMadHouse · 13/08/2008 15:50

PMSL at Nitabulous Ruby

I am sick of this afternoon, my two are at each other. I have tried colouring and painting, but they just want to fight

I have listed 10 of my items on e-bay. Will do more when DH comes in

Mad - what are you selling?

TheMadHouse · 13/08/2008 17:43

EV baby Boys stuff (That DS2 has outgrown) and 18-36 month growbags (3 different togs).

I gave most of it away, but this is GAP, Timberland etc, so though I might get something for it.

I am thinking of starting to list the baby toys they have outgrown soon too.

We have had dinner and I am going to run a bath next.

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 17:44

Ok, boys not much use for me Good luck though!

DDs now not in mood to eat their dinner. I am full of cold as well as a bit sore. Now tired. Wish I could go to bed....

lucysmam · 13/08/2008 18:31

evening ladies, had a very productive playday here with my lo. living room's a mess and she's chattering away to herself in bed atm so have just put spag bol on for tea which im going to eat on my own in total peace as oh at footy.

I did clean up after oh made a mess in the kitchen again sawing something (dont ask why he couldnt go outside, anyone would think he was going to melt the way he carried on) and move everything that doesn't belong in the living room out of here though.

Am just debating whether or not to sort paperwork alone tonight or make oh sit down with me tomorrow and do it for once instead of me sorting everything

TheMadHouse · 13/08/2008 18:35

Evening

Boys are bathed and in PJsWasher is on with towels.
I am showered and clean - I forgot shampoo and stuff when swimming

EV I am going to have another early night. I hope you rest up a little bit - when is DH back?

Ruby Hope you are all un-nitulabous now

Later ladies off to read to the boys

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 18:49

DH just got back. Kids hyper. I'm hiding while the bath is running

Tired as spent until midnight doing accounts night before last....

Hope you're feeling a bit better TMH

TheMadHouse · 13/08/2008 20:03

EV I am glad that DH is back - Make sure he looks after you.

I am feeling OK - planning on an early night and then soft play in the morning so that they can run off some energy.

Then off to Aldi in the afternoon

hello everyone..im back again!!
I've been looking at the Flylady website for ideas about my morning and evening routines...what does everyone else do?
Ok here goes...im actually a bit confused ( sorry im sure this is really annoying for everyone!)
This is what i think i should be doing everyday -
...morning routine (how many things should be on the list?)

...evening routine......

Then i understand there is a zone ( at the moment bathroom and laundry) that i should spend 15 mins decluttering everyday.

Then the missions which are different everyday and related to the particular zone you are doing.

Is that it? What are hotspots?

Bewilderbeast · 13/08/2008 20:29

evenin everyone cafebistro not ignoring your post but I'm not sure of the answer, I am pretty much the flylady equivalent of a lapsed catholic

done

made tea for DS
did the shopping
put shopping away
cleaned kitchen surfaces

EustaciaVye · 13/08/2008 21:11

cafebistro. I really recommend babysteps as you will get the most out of it. However you should end up with a morning/afternoon/evening routine which suits your needs. You have a weekly home blessing (blitz to you and I) where you hoover, clean mirrors etc. You then have a weekly zone where you focus on one room. This week is the bathroom. You clean it thoroughly and then it comes around again in a month and repeat.

A daily routine can look like this:
? Morning routine

  1. Make bed
  2. Swish & Swipe en suite bathroom
  3. Put a wash load in
  4. Empty dishwasher
  5. Feed cat & fish
  6. Check calendar
  7. DRINK SOME WATER
  8. Clear away breakfast things
  9. Think about what you want for dinner - take out meat if necessary.
10. 2 minute hotspot 11. 5 minute room rescue

? Afternoon routine

  1. Clear away lunch things
  2. Empty/reload dishwasher
  3. Hang out/collect washing
  4. Swish & swipe downstairs loo
  5. 15 minutes
  6. DRINK SOME WATER
  7. Kelly?s Mission

? Night time routine

  1. Take clean clothes upstairs & put away
  2. Swish & swipe children?s bathroom
  3. Load dishwasher & put on
  4. Wipe kitchen surfaces and shine sink
  5. 2 minute hotspot
  6. Brush teeth, hair and wash 
  7. Get clothes out for tomorrow
  8. DRINK SOME WATER

And a weekly routine can look like this:
WEEKLY LIST
? Monday - Home blessing
Purge magazines
Water Plants
Polish Mirrors
Vacuum downstairs & Dust
Mop floors
? Tuesday
Ironing
? Wednesday
Zone clean
Zone windows
Thank you letters / celebration cards / bills
Empty all trash
? Thursday ? Errand Day
Take library books back
Post letters
Wash towels
? Friday
Vacuum upstairs & Dust
Change Sheets
Clean fridge
? Saturday - Family Fun
Clear out handbag
Clear out car
? Sunday - Renew spirit - Pamper Mission
Write Menu & shopping list
Supermarket shop
Check calendars for week ahead
Paperwork

I also have detailed lists for each room to work through.

A hotspot is an area where you pile stuff. And then ignore it. And then it is still there 3 months later.

tortoise · 13/08/2008 21:35

Evening all.
Sorry, haven't read thread.

I think i have everything ready for out outing to Crealy park tomorrow.
I am really worrying about it. We have 8 mins to change trains at Exeter St Davids, to get to Exeter Central. Not a problem on the way because it is only a short walk to Exeter Central but if we are to slow swapping trains on the way home we would miss the last train home.
What will i do if we miss it? Taxi would be very expensive!

I have made food and packed change of clothes for kids. (Log flume, i expect to get wet!)

Keep fingers crossed the rain isn't too bad. At least we can do loads indoors if it does get too bad.

Will pop in tomorrow when we get home.

Hope Mickey dog will be ok alone all day and doesn't wee on my clean carpet.

cafebistro · 13/08/2008 21:57

Thanks Eustacia for taking the time to do that

BiancaCastafiore · 13/08/2008 22:07

Enjoy Crealys Tort We visited one in Cornwall and the kids loved it

tortoise · 13/08/2008 22:23

Thanks Bianca. I am sure we will have a blast. As long as we can get home lol!
