Can we talk about tea towels?

I cannot believe I am asking this. This is a laughably luxury problem. I recently replaced my totally gross ancient tea towels with new ones following an attempt to lift the scummy slummy vibes in the kitchen. All my new tea towels - variety bought from different places, Habitat, local haberdasher, supermarkets have all shrunk to about half their original size within - like - about a month. Any advice much appreciated.

Oh but stunt tea towels should definitely become an acceptable thing, like the best dress that you never wear and the best china that just sits behind glass looking nice. 😂
And the old style parlour that was almost never used except maybe for funerals and vicar visits.

See I am not a fan of any of that. DH is so we have wedding china we literally never use. What a waste. Luckily I don’t like it any more so all good.

Use your things! I have a bad ceramics habit; currently at work drinking coffee from a mug from a pottery in Wales that probs cost £25 or so. I love it.

I have one unused tea towel (Iceland from DD as it was sooooo ££ apparently) but otherwise use them. Elvis Costello, Paris, German recipe for doughnuts…

I took both my girls to the exhibition today and we absolutely loved it. We also literally bumped into Lemn Sissay, a hero of ours as both my children are care experienced. Got some great photos for the family album.

Yes, who needs the argy-bargy of certain threads, when you could be discussing art, philosophy, semantics, frugal living, style, general housekeeping, inheritances, childhood memories, holidays and life mantras on an all-encompassing thread about tea towels?
