Why don’t duvets or sheets state their size?

Cleaned out the linen cupboard this morning. We have every size bed from super king down to single and in sorting out the cupboard I realise 90% of our sheets/duvet covers/duvets don’t state their size and the duvets their tog! How hard can it be?! Is this a thing? Does anyone label their linen?

I was actually just thinking that today!! Has anyone ever gone through with a sharpie and written on the sheets single, double, king etc? I was also thinking I might write long side and short side on the super king duvets as I always get them turned around.

I've written sizes on ours - just too much swearing otherwise, when I find I'm trying to fit a swimming cap onto an exercise ball (if you see what I mean)

The bedding I have from Ikea and Zara Home is labelled with the size. I have marked the rest myself, and which way around it needs to go, where necessary.

My 11 year old has a small double bed and when buying her bedding I purposely bought a duvet a size up from the standard model for that size bed. Not because I like it to hang down low but so that I could buy the absolute square size and never even need to look at which way round the cover and insert need to be!
