A place for everything - can you help?!

So Im trying hard to make sure everything has a place to live in an effort to be tidier (!).

However there's some necessities which just dont seem to have anywhere to live and so clutter up surfaces in the house :/

Where do you keep yours?!!
* hair brushes
Ours migrate between the hall table, bathroom sink, dining table, kitchen side.
* hot water bottle(s)
Currently living by the log basket in the living room
* main handbag
gets dumped by sofa/telly
* hair clips/bands
One mug in bathroom and one on a book case full but more accumulate on surfaces!
* fire lighter
Currently on mantle piece

If anyone can assist in helping me find a place for these and other clutter I'd be very grateful!

Hair brushes - in my basket of hair tools in a cupboard in my bedroom.
hot water bottle - under the sink
handbag- hung up in the porch with coats
hair clips - same hair basket as brush
fire lighter - use long matches and kept in cupboard. Lighter for candles in the cutlery drawer

I would be tempted to store my hot water bottles in something like this:

I don't like piles of stuff roaming free range bc they breed in the night and before you know it, everyone in the house decides "oh this is where we chuck stuff for mum to deal with"

my hot water bottles are on a shelf in a cupboard in the utility room if you have a spare shelf anywhere. Everyone that brushes there hair or uses hair bobbles has them in post on their dressing table.

Have a pull-out drawer with sections in my warbrobe (Ikea) where all my hairbrushes, make-up, perfume, jewellery etc is laid out

In airing cupboard

Another pull-out drawer (was a convert after the bedroom one) in the cupboard under the stairs I had fitted a couple of years ago. Handbag is on the top pullout, shoes the ones under that.

In the wooden box with the kindling and firelighters

Hairbrushes I have one in a basket that also has hair clips/bands and I keep a hairbrush in my handbag. Hot water bottles are kept in PJ drawer.
Handbag is also put next to sofa.

Put things with either their:

• family - the same type of item all go together, eg all hair bands go in one place
• friend - so things that are similar but not exactly the same all go in one place eg all hair bands, hair clips go together
• colleagues - things that you use together, eg you have a basket by your mirror that contains hairbrush, bands, clips
