This has to be the absolute worst job to do but needs must. First is there anyone I can pay to clean my ovens including the shelves so they look like new (that would be heaven)???? Or please tell me the best, easiest and possibly with low odour (suffer with asthma)product that will make it all shiny and new again????

Yep, ovenmate from lakeland is the bees knees!

had Ovenu (www.ovenu.co.uk) do my disgusting oven. The guy was brilliant, my oven looked like new and all for £70 - mind you it did take him three hours!

sunshineonarainyday · 02/06/2008 15:03

oh, forgot to say, the products he used were safe and odour free so no need to have kitchen windows/door open.

Lubyloo · 02/06/2008 15:12

I also used Ovenu and they were fab. He dismantled everything and took it to his van to clean. No mess, no fumes. They don't use anything corrosive. He said that corrosive cleaners like Mr Muscle can damage ovens.

Thanks for all your responses. There's no place like Mumsnet.......sighs

I used bicarb on our disgusting crap-caked oven and it worked a treat - just make a paste of bicarb and water, smear it on, leave for a bit and wipe off. The burnt crusty stuff just comes clean away, it's amazing

Hi, I picked up a good tip from my friend, on cleaning oven shelves. Just put them in the dishwasher on a normal cycle. They come out like new, tried it the other week!

alibubbles · 02/06/2008 17:57

£50 ovenclean, brilliant, no mess, smell, hassle, and only 1.5 hours!
