Where to buy fridge & washing machine

Where's best for buying an undercounter fridge and a washing machine please?
Neither needs to be fancy or 'smart'.
I'd like a decent make (e.g. hotpoint) but not expensive, quick cool wash and 'A' energy rate, and delivery within a few days.

Budget is up to £500.
Could I install the washing machine myself?

The nearest independent Euronics are in posh places but there is one in a fairly grotty area.
Will it make a difference?
All of them are within about 9 miles.

I'd be driving there and I think I might need to pay £12.50 for the privilege of visiting the one in the least nice area.

The checker says I don't. Is that because it's been parked outside for a week, or because it's exempt?

From memory Hotpoint always do very poorly in Which reports, but that may have changed. Also most machines aren't made as well as they used to be so people saying their machine lasted 15 years are talking about a different machine to what's available now, even from the same brand.
I have a Miele which has been trouble free for 10 years, with heavy use - I recently had to have a repair costing £140 but I felt it was worth it given replacing a Miele with another Miele would cost getting on for £1000.

Recommend AO. Paid for the membership last year, bought three appliances since with good savings, also love their delivery people, really helpful. Never any issues

We usually buy from AO.com

Another vote for AO - they were quick, efficient, professional & polite when replacing both a cooker and a fridge freezer. Took all the packaging away, (plus the old appliances) fully installed both, and said that if there were any issues just to call & they would come back - we had no issues.

I used AO and Curry’s once but other than that I’ve always used John Lewis before and after those times. I shop around and JL ajways comes out best for me and the items seem to last longer than the other 2

Also AO fans.
We have tended to buy Bosch washing machines in the past, but current one is LG. Fridges are whatever fits in the very specific space we have. Have so far all been Bosch.

I have a Hisense washing machine from AO and it's now 6 years old. I have not had any problems with it.

The fridge freezer is American style and is Haier brand and is also 6 years old. Still working really well. Also from AO.

Agree with the delivery people who showed up each time were polite and helpful. Couldn't fault the service.
