Best polish/cleaner for new oak furniture

We have bought a lot of oak furniture for our new house. So that I don’t make a mistake and spoil it, could anyone recommend any products I should use and how often I should use them?

I bought a new oak table recently and was told it's best to just wipe it over with a damp cloth. I just use normal furniture polish on everything else. Almost all my furniture is oak.

We were told by the salesperson not to use any polish or cleaner, only a damp cloth to clean the oak furniture. We were also told to wax it with beeswax every 6 months or so.
