Hi
I have an opportunity to change my kitchen and I would love some advise from those of you who use a range type cooker . I have looked at Aga's , Lacanche, SMEG and I am at a loss to know which one to invest in or are they ones out there that are even better. Its a big investment that I want to get right. I bake a lot and cook a lot and over the next few years I will have a lot of family for occasions where I will be cooking. The kitchen is open planned and is quite big so space isn't an issue. I currently have a gas hob and it drives me nuts the lack of space for large saucepans. So a larger hob definitely needed. I also have a mounted in the wall electric oven and christmas dinner can be a struggle to fit all in 😀Thank you!

Have you considered an Everhot? We got our just before lockdown and we wouldn’t swap it for anything it is great and food tastes amazing.

Love our range cooker although it’s a 90cm Belling one. Two ovens, one grill and gas hob. Mostly use the small oven which is adequate for a meal for 4. Large oven used once or twice a year for large gatherings.

never use the grill but it makes for an excellent plate warmer when the oven is on.

smeg have terrible reliability reviews and my uncle has an Aga which only has 1 temperature so he bought a separate oven and hob to actually cook stuff.

I have this one - I’ve never got on with the grill as the grill pan seems too close to the heating element. What am I doing wrong?

(I’ve had mine 11 years and had no issues with it. The matching fridge however, died some time ago.)

Oh yes, the grill on my rangemadter is ridiculous. You have to put the pan in a frame and there is no other option so you can only grill at one distance from the element.

I have the older version of that Rangemaster. I've had it for about 14 years and I love it.

We are really happy with our smeg. Reliable and keeps temperatures stable.

Hi everyone firstly thank you so much for taking the time to respond and share your experiences. Honestly I cannot thank you enough. Feeling slightly overwhelmed with it all and its great to get some real life experiences. I was in a large well known retail store yesterday and honestly the salesperson was trying to convince me that neither of these were as good as another Italian brand or a French brand. But I am the one who will be cooking and baking and I honestly want functionality over high end glamour😀Thank you again - I am heading towards the RM.
