We had a nest last year in our roof but I can't seem to locate one this year. Can I ring pest control without knowing where the nest is or even if there is one? ARGH! It's only a matter of time until dc get stung

I will be watching this thread as I get lots. Remember if he does get stung then to put winegar on it to cool it

I seem to have seen a lot of hornets in the last two days - what's that about then?

Morning bump since there's now three of us needing advice!

Lakeland do a very good wasp trap and attractant solution to put in it. It might help to draw them away from the house while you try to locate the nest?

The trap fits over a large plastic bottle and once they get in they can't get out. I filled sevral last year and I put it right away from the house - it did reduce the numbers.

Thanks 3littlefrogs. Did you actually have a nest? I still can't tell if we have!

Yes - it was in the roof space, but it took a while to work out where it was. At least the trap made it possible to go out and observe where they were coming from.
