luda how exciting a May Ball @ you making it up to dh
scatty we where at a 3rd birthday party at a local softplay centre a couple of weeks ago. All ellie was interested in was a ballon attached to the party bag. All I was interested in was the slice of birthday cake within party bag. I agree with TMH kids shouldn't expect anything when they go to a party. The mum who had the party is very easy going & not materialistic she was horrified to hear from some of the other mums that they expect, not the child a min of £10 worth of stuff in the bag I was outraged too This particular group mum had said to her well if we are spending at least £10 on a present thats what we expect! I would prefer that they didn't give a present if that was their attitude. I certainly don't expect people to buy ellie birthday presents party or no party.
sorry for the ramble

£10! That would cost me £250 on party bags!

I'm glad you agree. I have npthing against pary bags as such (except paying for them LOL).

Zero flying done. Took DS to football after school, except he didn't want to join in. Then after tea he wanted me to play football with him and kicked 3 balls over the fence! Our garden is too small for proper football. Now he wants to try the football club again . I think he's got to the age when he wants a bit more than I can offer, but is still anxious about joining in things.

Balloon is great idea. For DDs birthday I had party bags with a whistle and piece of cake in. Kids were happy. Parents all told me they would get revenge

Yes but Ruby You are the party queen are you not.

I am back from shopping and it is all popped away.

DH put the boys to bed and sorted their clothes etc for the morning.

He also tidied the conservatory and made me a cup of tea

So dinner is in the oven and then thats it for me.

Busy day tomorrow again

Taking the boys and my neice out to the park for the morning and to MacDs for lunch, picking up mum, droping neice home, then mum and DS2 to my house, DS1 to Preschool and me to the post office.

I would also like to go to the garden centre for some pea seeds and some other bits, then mum home and trip to Aldi with the boys for all our veg and stuff that I get from there.

hi all having a mad FLY round at the mo.
spent all morning in library revising, picked dd up after she'd had her lunch popped to town to run some errands, then picked ds from school we took a picnic to the park straight from school, was enjoying it so much we didnt get back til almost 7 we were having such a lovely time we'd have been there later as i didnt have my watch on so didnt know the time until another mum said something.
so have got in showered the dc and put dd to bed. ds is off in a bit

Scatty a balloon for the children is plenty thats all they usually want- oh and whistles always go down well as someone else mentioned earluer

tortoise · 07/05/2008 20:48

Evening all.
Busy day today.
Went to toddlers this morn. Then went to the park with friends for a picnic.
Came home, walked Mickey then off on school run. DS2 had a club until 4 so i took DS1 to have a hair cut. Went to pick DS2 up and he got asked to a friends for tea!

Came home, made tea then cut the lawn.
DD's went to bed a bit later than norm, they were having fun outside.

My bath is running,
house is a tip,
And i am going to go to bed soon!

scattyspice · 07/05/2008 21:09

Lots of picnics today!

Whistles eh? Might look into it.

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 21:18

Whistles and playdoh.....nightmare party bag treats! Whistles in the car all the way home making your ears bleed, and playdoh all over the back seat by the time you get them out.

I usually go for a balloon, piece of cake, and a small notebook/pencil type thing....yo-yo's went down well one year (and up )

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 21:19

Oh...and bubbles are my other worst party bag toy....they usually end up all over one or all children by the time we get home!

dylsmum1998 · 07/05/2008 21:27

hehe didnt say they went down with parents they are my revenge after a house full of children for a couple of hours
scatty can usually pick up packs of cheap whistles in wilkos, shouldnt work out too expensive

just been chatting to a friend we off to the local strand for a picnic tomorrow with our youngest dc whilst the big ones are in school.
will be good as there is so much to do there- i predict no FLYing again tomorrow in my house

Jas · 07/05/2008 21:43

Don't put whistles in if you want the other parents to speak to you ever again!

I buy £1 shop stuff throughout the year and split packs to do party bags. They usually work out at about £1 each.

Glasses pics are on my profile

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 21:49

Jas They really suit you!

Your hair is a lovely colour too....what shade is it? (I am asuming it is dyed )

Jas · 07/05/2008 21:52

Thankyou.

I hsve no idea what colou my hair is...I top it up randomly with the brightest reds I can find, but when I find a good one I always forgeet what it was/the shopstops stocking it!

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 21:55

I am considering going that shade....I'm dark brown with a tint of red....would like it a bit lighter for the summer.

Jas · 07/05/2008 21:56

I love it. I'm naturally mousy brown, so it takes quite well. If your hair is darker you may need to lighten it first to get proper red.

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 22:00

I'm naturally mousy brown too....but my last dye was quite dark...my roots are showing now, so I might have a look tomorrow for something. Even if it just made me a little lighter/redder...

Ludaloo · 07/05/2008 22:03

I'm off to bed....I have just sat and scoffed a whole bag of chocolate raisins!

Catch you tomorrow all xx

Nutsaboutchocolate · 07/05/2008 22:06

Hi All

This lovely weather, just what the doctor ordered. I did over do things out in the garden yesterday though. I cut the lawns. I could use the mower as a sort walking aid. It was great to be able to cut the grass. The problem I got was last night. My arms were killing me. They really hurt to move and really ached when I kept them still. I could not win. I could not even use my lappy. I really wanted to post a message last night to say how happy I was with cutting the grass.

We went to the park after school today as well. Not much flying done here today. We were enjoying the sunny weather too much to be indoors flying.

£10 for a party bag I thought party bags came about for taking a piece of birthday cake home, then a few little goodies started being added. But to get £10 worth of party bag at a normal child's birthday is taking the P!$$ TBH

For the DSs party we did party bags. They had A piece of birthday cake. A small note book and pen. I big balloon, A small bag of jelly sweets and a little hand made card (DSs made them)saying thank-you for coming to DS1 and DS2 party. We hope you had a fun time. I got the bits from Tesco. Cheap in there are a few party bag fillers and there are lots to chose.

Tort you said you are off to bed soon. I`m in bed already

I seen a MN tip the other day saying to put your PJs on before logging into MN, As it is easier to get in to bed after you have been on MN too long.
My tip would be..............
"Get a lappy then you can be in bed and still be on MN"

I`m not staying logged in to long tonight though. We are off to the shops. I need to get some summer clothes for me. All mine are too small. I have put too much weight on. Though I dont eat a lot, Its been all this not being able to move very much. Oh well I need some new (different) clothes.

Night night

tortoise · 07/05/2008 22:23

Just had my bath. As usual not getting to bed very early!
My tooth hurts. I KNOW i NEED to go to the dentist! Tomorrow would be a good day with DD2 at pre-school all day but that will waste my tidying time! Wanted to get so much done this week but haven't got very far!
