getting rid of oil on linen/cotton mix dungarees

A friend has lent me a pair of dungarees for DD. They are very pale and a linen/cotton mix (obviously!). DH picked her up after he'd ridden his bike and there is an oil stain on them. I washed them straight away with Vanish on the stain. Then re-Vanished them and washed again. But there is still a mark.

Is there any hope, or do I have to come clean (so to speak)?

you need De-Solve-It, from the washing [powder, Vanish etc aisle in Tesco

or dab petrol on: it works for creosote from railway sleepers...
