Is anyone just starting to declutter? Or hasn't yet.

I know there's lots of decluttering threads but I'm just starting (again) but this time I mean business.
What's inspired you to declutter now? Mine is clearing out an elderly relative's home and realising I don't want dcs to ever have that much stuff to clear. Plus it's quite depressing having too much stuff.
Dh and I travel a lot, mainly uk, and you realise you need very little to get on in life.

I'm not going minimalist although can see the appeal.

Care to join? I won't be counting items but I will list as much as possible. I should really try and sell some stuff but cba.

Well done @BadSkiingMum . Yes got rid of 2 bags of kitchen stuff yesterday. Lots of mixing bowls etc. Some plant pots. I'd already sorted the cupboards but the stuff was lurking.

Hi all!
I've made great progress, took all the bags of clothes to the charity bin, gave a lot of stuff away on Facebook free pages, thrown odds and ends away.
My house is a bit untidy, but I've got space to move around and I've been able to start cleaning without moving boxes and bags of stuff.
Other than Kon Marie does anyone have any suggestions of how to organise your house?
I'm a visual person, I need to see what I have or else I forget and buy more of the same.
DP could box all his belongings up, stack them, and in a year's time know exactly what box a certain thing would be in.
And also, if I had to pull something out to get something from the back of a cupboard I'd be unlikely to put it all away tidy.
I have no idea how to organise my clothes, stupid things like do my bed socks live with my socks or in my pyjama drawer, where should my gloves live, do I roll my jeans up and keep them in a drawer or hang them with trousers.
The organise your wardrobe people all seem to have huge walk ins, capsule outfits, and pack away season stuff.
No one does a standard UK wardrobe, for weather that can be heatwave to freezing to monsoon in one week.

Oh well done CherryogDog!

I am no expert in this but I do think that buying uniform-sized storage can actually be quite helpful. These baskets from Amazon come in different sizes and fit well into standard kitchen cupboards, although measure up first to see if you want the wider or the narrower ones. They have revolutionised several areas for me. I write a label on both ends with a sharpie.

I say pack away the seasonal clothes. A suitcase is fine, perhaps with some cedar blocks in to keep it smelling fresh.

Not much decluttering progress here, apart from selling one item on Ebay and giving some more Pyrex bowls to my MIL, who can pass them on to someone. Keeping up the efforts on my work project at the moment, in a bid to have made progress by my deadline of the Budget.

Well done @CherryogDog . That's amazing progress

Have any of you listened to Decluttering untangled with Heather Tingle? I've probably already mentioned it. Aimed at ND people but good for anyone overwhelmed. I find her down to earth approach refreshing.

I like those baskets @BadSkiingMum, I do have a thing for containers lol.
I don't separate my clothes into seasons, I just layer up or down. But I do have three boxes of clothes under my bed that are too small for me. I lost loads of weight a while back and treated myself to some really nice (and expensive) stuff. Sadly I'm piling the weight back on but I'm living in hope that I'll get on top of it again!
I bought a lot of nice Pyrex dishes, but stupidly got the smooth sided type, I've got arthritic hands and need the type with handles.
