I've had several pairs of jeans and trousers ruined when I used to cycle a lot. I've tried vanish, tried a hotter wash all to no avail. If anyone has any tips then I would be most grateful.

Try rubbing in some fairy liquid (neat) into the oil stains. That's what I used in the past and it worked for me. Rub in and leave for about 5 mins then pop the clothes in the wash. If its very big stains just use a lot of liquid

Swarfega works on heavy oil stains. Rub it in, then stick it in the washing machine.

Shall try that thank you. What about hand washing? My dh managed to get some on our push chair hood (don't ask how!) will it work on that too? Worth a shot I suppose.
