Can I wash a rubber shower mat at 60C in the washing machine?

NB this is not a bath mat that goes on the bathroom floor, it's a non-slip shower mat. It is rubber, not plastic. The wash instructions say 40C but I don't feel this gets it clean.

It's generally not recommended to wash a rubber shower mat at 60°C in the washing machine. High temperatures can damage the rubber and cause it to break down or lose its shape.
Instead, try washing it on a gentle cycle with cold or warm water (30°C to 40°C) and mild detergent. Always check the care instructions on the mat label for the best results.

I wash them at recommended temp and then disinfect them

Add white vinegar to the wash too

What everyone's suggesting is what I've been doing so far, so I'll keep on.

Thanks everyone.

You could try soaking it in the bath with a little bleach in the water for an hour or so and then using a scrubbing brush on it.

I’d say yes to the washing machine but at 40*C

Not at 60 - I made that mistake last weekend with a rubber backed door mat. I'd previously washed it many times at 40 but bunged it in with a 60 degree wash. Big mistake. Pellets of rubber everywhere and the mat went in the bin.
