Shark or Miele vacuum?

I know there's so many different models of each but generally which do you rate? I have 3 kids and a dog so need something robust and hardworking.

I have a shark cordless for whipping round quickly daily and an old Miele pull along for a proper hoover once a week. (I have 2 dogs).

Erm this person is on her 3rd Miele! I'm still on my first shark............

We have a Shark cordless and I took the opportunity of DD moving into a new flat at uni to give her our old Miele and get a new one. We got the Blizzard Cat & Dog model. Between the two, the Miele is the hands down winner, but I've never tried a Shark plug in. The bagless thing is fine - really easy, copes perfectly with two big dogs and hordes of people rampaging in and out of the house. It's got a lovely long cord, which is nice, but it is pretty heavy. Like a PP, I think the turbo head is great.

First one lasted twenty years. Now have two, one upstairs and one down.

Miele with bag. I had mine for many years and it started being a bit less powerful, so got a shark. Big regrets, I hate the samn thing. Always gets things stuck and doesn't hoover up nearly as much as the miele did. Admittedly I lost a fair number of socks to that one!
