Hello all

just popping in to say hello from my sick room (god I feel like death warmed over). Hope all are well.

WM is on
DW is loaded
and, after a mammoth fight with stupid technology, my CV is printed

Nutsaboutchocolate · 20/04/2008 15:33

Hi Everyone

I have not read the threads yet so I hope that everyone are ok.

DS1 has gone back to his school today. He wont be home now for 2 weeks

I`m going to miss DS2 and DD tomorrow as well as both back at school and pre-school.

So I full house to an empty one.

HNtree has taken DS2 and DD for a walk and ending in the park.

I was a stupid girl on Tuesday and went out without using my chair. Ended up having a fall I`m ok now, just a bit sore. It has set be back abit though with doing something I was just starting to do again.

HNtree is sort of seeing a new man. She said I should find someone, but who would want to date me who can not do very much and needs looking after.

BiancaCastafiore · 20/04/2008 17:19

Hello again

Dd is now out on her bike with a friend (new testing out giving her some freedom - they are allowed btwn certain houses on our lane)
Ds is whinging because I've banned the playstation (waayyy too much time on there lately!)
Dh is fixing lights up in the garage.
I have put some supper in the oven, just need to do the veggies in a minute.

No motivation today. Extreme tiredness - I could fall asleep like a shot if put in a dark room.

Where's Luda today?
HN Hello Hope you are able to enjoy the house being quiet once the kids are all back at school. Was ds1 OK about going back to school?
Grouchy enjoy your eve out
Dyls glad your holiday was fun ()
Bewilder sorry you've been feeling so poorly, get well soon x
Jas bills, I hate them
FGS...me too, I could do with a week off. We're starting to count down to our holiday - 8 weeks to go I think...

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2008 17:19

FGS I so understand the week off, just a week of being me, not mummy, mamma, maaaaaaaaaaaaaam, wife, pot washer, ironer, cheif cook and everything else that is my life at the moment.

A week somewhere peacefull with some good books, ipod, chocolate, lots of long baths and no telephone bliss

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2008 17:22

x-posts Bianca I have the dinner cooking too, just waiting for the ping of the steamer for the veg - yoekshire puddings yumm.

On a heavier note it might me worth getting your iron checked if you are feeling that tired.

We have done in the garden and next doors little girl has just gone home.

I have also put the clothes away

To do

Baths all round
Get ready for tomorrow

BiancaCastafiore · 20/04/2008 17:25

hmm, you could be right TMH, I had to take iron as a teen (kept passing out). Maybe I should be cooking some red meat rather than the chicken that's in the oven
I'll keep a check on it and add it to my list for the doctors when I'm brave enough to go!
(building up to dentist trip on Tues atm )

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 17:43

We've finished dinner

DD1 wants to invite all the girls in our street over to play. I've said yes, in the hope that most of their parents say no, then I'm not th evil mum for a change

DDs bathed this morning, so only ds (and me) to do, then I'm letting them stay up late to watch Dr Who as we all missed it yesterday.

A week off......Would be my dream come rue. It'll never happen. I doubt I'll even get a day off this year.

whispywhisp · 20/04/2008 18:03

....anyone got any tips on how to persuade a very defiant 4yr old to eat her tea!? The amount of meals I have cooked over the last couple of weeks, that she has eaten (and enjoyed) many times before and now she simply pushes the plate away only to complain she's hungry later....I stick to my guns and won't let her anything else to eat but I'm just fed up with her defiance ruining our tea-times!

BiancaCastafiore · 20/04/2008 18:13

Whispy I have no tips but I am sympathetic - my ds is very similar to your dd when it comes to meal times these days - it's driving me mad! I just grin and bear it and s l o w l y he seems to be coming round. I hate battles over food though

FunkyGlassSlipper · 20/04/2008 18:29

My 4 year old is doing the same thing with food. She'll eat spag bol and sandwiches.

whispywhisp · 20/04/2008 19:34

I have just been out with the dog for a walk...come home and dd2 is sat eating a yoghurt. I told her she couldn't have anything to eat if she didn't eat her tea. She told DH that 'Mummy said I could have a pudding'....so he gave her a yoghurt. I give up!

tortoise · 20/04/2008 19:34

Evening all.
I have put all but the boys washing away. I want them to do it but DS2 isn't keen to try! Might do his in a mo. Need to get them to get uniform out for tomorrow too. And make lunches!
All 4 bathed.

Spent money i shouldn't really have spent today on a bike off Ebay for DS2. He has out grown his and very keen to cycle. It was £40.03 2nd hand. picking it up by train Thursday in Taunton.

Have decided to attempt this cake for DD1! Is anyone able to do me a favour? I want a few bits from the online shop to decorate it. But i don't have a card. Can send Postal order in advance if someone can order for me, please.

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2008 19:36

I am dreading this with food, at the moment we all eat together and eat the same food, if one doesnt want it then I leave it.

If they say that they are hungry later then it is fruit or salad and more often than not will eat some tomatoes or an apple. It doesnt happen very often though.

I used to worry about DS1 dropping his weight when he was ill and the consultant just told me that they pick up on our worry and pray on it. SO I am not a chilled mum at mealtimes. It helps that they eat loads of veg though ie carrots, brochli, cauli, peas and leeks with dinner and mash, they also had spag bol for lunch with cherry toms on top (made with peppers, onions, carrots, corgettes), so I know that they get their 5 a day without fruit or juice.

TheMadHouse · 20/04/2008 19:38

Tort - send me a mail - I will order it for you and we can sort it later

tortoise · 20/04/2008 19:41

whispy My DS's used to be really fussy but are really good now they are older (8 & 11). DD1 isn't keen on anything much at the moment. I don't worry. She will get over it. As long as she eats a bit i don't mind her having fruit or yog for pudding.

I also made yummy brownie cakes today. Taste better while still warm and soft!

tortoise · 20/04/2008 20:30

Anyone remember this post? (scroll to By tortoise on Wed 18-Apr-07 15:29:27)
One year today since i got residency of DS's back!

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:34

yes

whispywhisp · 20/04/2008 21:39

Well....DD2 was put to bed...hungry - having said that she's eaten loads during the day so I don't feel too guilty not allowing her anymore to eat this evening, apart from the yoghurt she managed to sneak out the fridge, but no doubt she'll be hungry in the morning.

I don't know what it is with her. She'll eat and thoroughly enjoy a meal one week...I do that exact same meal a week later and she'll push it away.

It annoys me because she'll say 'oh I really love carrots'...and she'll eat every single carrot on her plate. I do carrots a couple of days later and they're 'disgusting'.

Never had this with DD1. She will eat absolutely anything..even sprouts!

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:40

You may be as lucky as me wrt food, TMH
I'm also in the eat it or go without camp, and although the dds got fairly picky at 4 or 5, I never made a fuss, just carried on giving them lots of variety (and watching them not eat 1/2 of it) and they have expanded their diets again as they have got older.

DD2 likes greens if they are cut small, so I make concessions like that, but try not to get caught in cooking seperate meals.

DD1 eats 3 weetabix (it is cereal or fruit here if they want more after tea) every night before bed, now, despite eating 3 meals a day, too.

tortoise · 20/04/2008 21:40

Sorry TMH Missed your post some how. Thanks, will email. Might be tomorrow now though. Am really tired and haven't made lunches yet. I need to make them don't i? Or i could do them in the morning!

DontDreamItBeIt · 20/04/2008 21:41

xpost whispywisp.....I didn't mean to sound that harsh.
If she has eaten during the day she will be fine, and maybe eat a decentbreakfast if she wakes up hungry. Don't feel bad.
