Ds threw up this morning, sponged it up with soap and water then carpet cleaner and now finally with febreeze but it still smells! Feeling queezy myself so any ideas will be very appreciated.

in the end we borrowed a carpet cleaner machine and that did work.

Bicarb and hoover off.

Great, thanks. Will try the bicarb first and if that doesn't work will get a machine.

bicarb is good if that does not work try white vinegar and water it works on cats wee lol

Definately clear vinegar - that is the best thing for getting whiffs out. Try the bicarb if it has already dried out

Lots of bicarb, leave it on for a while, then hoover off

old thread I know, but thanks for posting the suggestions as DS1 had a bout of projectile vomiting yesterday and I cannot get the whiff away! tried steam cleaner and disinfectant but hasn't worked. off to try the bicarb!

Biological washing powder tablet mixed with some hot water. Worked a treat when ds had a very milky vomit over our carpet.

lovechoc · 09/10/2010 22:06

thanks SherbetDibDab will try that if the bicarb doesn't work.:)

I second the bio powder - the enzymes are great at 'digesting' vomit.
