Just a quickie as ds is waiting not very calmly for his turn on the computer to play lego star wars.

Had a busy morning at work - am exhausted now!

We've just had a nice walk to the library and taken out some good books and audio books to entertain the kids over the holidays Dd was interested in Jacq Wilson but I thought they were for older kids (dd is almost 7), does anyone know?

Luda I'm usually able to get onto MSN if you need a chat. Sorry things are difficult atm xx

Have to go, ds is is going crazy at the unfairness of me being allowed on the computer when he is waiting!!

NotABanana · 07/04/2008 15:57

EHM Yes

BTW Rice pud smells delish

sagacious · 07/04/2008 16:47

mmm rice pud

Well plumber has just phoned he's ordered a new part but it won't be here till Wednesday [fume]

still as we were in all day we've moved ds's bedroom around, got rid of old toys and cleaned everywhere .. ds v happy !

TheMadHouse · 07/04/2008 17:02

IVC Thank you very much for that. DS has suffered so many weezey episodes in his life and it is so scary, espeically when they had to ventilate in the past. He is older now and understands puff puff helps and even asks for it, but we just can not seem to figure out why he is like this and has been since 4 months old. He is asymtomatic 99% of the time. He was tested for CF nearly 20 times, as he was always borderline and insuficiant for an additional test till finally we got a negative.

So I have rang the health visitor and she is going to arrange for the inoulations

intravenouscoffee · 07/04/2008 17:09

EHM Rewarding more than upsetting but it did have its sad times. Has the disadvantage that people think I know all about having a baby because I am a nurse. No, I know about SICK babies - well ones are a complete mystery to me! I still think it's probably the best job in the world but the current NHS problems mean that I'm v grateful to be out of it at present.
Sag How annoying. Why do they always have to order a part? And why is that part always manufactured in Australia and has to be transported here by carrier pigeon? (Sorry, past experience with a broken boiler during a snowstorm one February)
Some of the windows are in (4 in total) and they all look fantastic! Am soooo excited - it's sad really . They're coming back tomorrow and wed to do the bay window and the front door/porch.
Banana Am v jealous of the rice pud!
Hope you've all had a good day.

intravenouscoffee · 07/04/2008 17:11

X posts, Hi TMH. Wheeziness is v.v. scary, esp if he's needed ventilation Really glad to hear the CF was a negative. Does he see a respiratory specialist?

sagacious · 07/04/2008 17:20

IV .. My washing machine part had to be posted from Italy the day after the last postal strike [gah]

luda - sorry you;re having a rought time of it
You all seem to have done really well today (dyls glad the light works!)
Can't hang about as:

DH has got back early and as he won £300 on the Grand National at the weekend on the spur of the moment we're going out to dinner so i'll say adieu !

TheMadHouse · 07/04/2008 17:24

IVC Yes he is under a resp specailist and he is great. Understands his condition really well and also that we have to balance keeping him beething and sleeping. The Nebs make him dangerously tachicardic (sp) and the ventolynn high as a kite, but I was so glad when the CF finally came back as negative.

We have pred in case at home, as he responds really well to it, but he has had too much this winter. Next spet is an MRI

TeenyTinyTorya · 07/04/2008 18:33

Thanks for baby steps TMH.

Ds and I have been out all day, so just getting started. I need to -

clean kitchen
shine sink
vacuum downstairs
do ironing
knit baby hats

NotABanana · 07/04/2008 19:10

Not sure I have done much flying but I have survived a whole day of school holidays with 3 kids on my own!

intravenouscoffee · 07/04/2008 19:24

Well done Banana! Don't know how people manage with 3, I'm knackered with one!
TMH Glad you've got someone good. The drug thing is an absolute nightmare but at least if you're working with a specialist you've got someone who knows where you're coming from. Have heard some v bizarre comments from parents who have been see by poorly informed GPs and get told all sorts of daft things! Hope the pneumo vacs help - keep us posted
Sorry for hijacking the thread everyone. Once I get started on medical stuff I find it hard to stop....

TheMadHouse · 07/04/2008 20:41

Well done on managing the first day of the hols Bananna Teeny Just shine your sink if nothing else and that goes for everyone

IVC We tried Montelucast, but it was a nightmare - night terrors, would go to sleep, thirst and rage. We are keen not to over medicate, but understand the need for the steriods and they make such a difference, however, I do get sick of telling GPs that he does not have ashma and that it viral associated weeze. He also develops mild exhma when he is unwell.

We have watched 101 dalmations twice today as the weather has been pants, also played cars and doctors too

I managed to get some ironing done and the clothes put away, but thats about it fly wise. I am planning to do the mission in the morning whilst porridge is cooling.

TeenyTinyTorya · 07/04/2008 20:43

clean kitchen done
shine sink done
vacuum downstairs done
do ironing about to do
knit baby hats will do while watching America's Next Top Model

grouchyoscar · 07/04/2008 21:12

Hello again

I was late collecting Ed. I mistimed my school walk. I forgot to factor in the effect my visit from Boris had on my walking speed

Further Done

Start to make tea
Collect Ed
Home
Get him changed
Put his clothes out for morning
Finish tea and put it in the oven
Load and run dishwasher
S&S hob
S&S worktops
Empty WM
Take upstairs to hang up to dry
Bring down almost dry laundry
Load TD and run
Take Ed to the playground
Home
Oven on
Lay table
Notice we'd left his coat
Back to playground, found it (phew)
Back home
Empty TD
Take upstairs for putting away
Have tea
Make lunchboxes for Ed and DH
Shine sink
Upstairs with cups of tea
Do reading with Ed (Hope I'm not speaking too soon but I think it might have clicked, 2 short stories with no fuss and few corrections!)
STOP

I'm totally bushed now, Ed is asleep next to me and I think I'll be joining him soon

Bewilderbeast · 07/04/2008 22:41

evening all

more decluttering done today

tortoise · 07/04/2008 22:52

Evening all.
I have messed up my evening now! Completly lost track of time playing Monopoly on PC with DS's! They went to bed about 20 mins ago!

I still have DS1's cake to ice/decorate, pressies to wrap and balloons to put up!

plus have to be up early so he can do pressies before we pop into town for party bits. Changed cinem to Thursday. Have so much to tidy before the party wednesday!

I better get on.

Grrr now DD1 is awake!

tortoise · 07/04/2008 23:20

Cake ready. Just blowing balloons uP!

tortoise · 07/04/2008 23:51

talking to myself but nevermind!

balloons up, cake done and pressies wrapped!

I think i can go and collapse into bed now. DS1 said he set his alarm for 6am . i hope he changed it like i asked him to!

DontDreamItBeIt · 08/04/2008 00:16

Not talking to yourself, tort.
I hope he has a lovely birthday.

Everyone is asleep and I have a 1/2 glass of wine to finish

I did no FLYing atall but have been to the optician and chosen glasses that fit. I may sort out a pic for a limited time tomorrow (£200 just for the lenses.....dp thinks it is an extravagance, but when your ees are as bad as mine it is a necessity.
