jellybeans · 04/04/2008 13:32

We are not on a meter and ours is £400 a year!

dylsmum1998 · 04/04/2008 14:10

would prob make mine the same as yours mad4 over a year (havent been here that long to know for definate). I'm with south east water too

Bky · 04/04/2008 14:15

We aren't on a meter and annual bill is in the region of about £190, which is to be paid in two payments one now (thanks for the reminder) and one in October. That is with Yorkshire water.

yurt1 · 04/04/2008 14:16

800 odd quid iirc. May have been 1000. I gasped and tried to ignore it.

South West water- highest water rates in the country (beaches the problem apparently), lowest wages.

I play about £390 a year.

It's based upon the rateable value of your house if you don't have a meter. I have a 2 bedroom terrace, no dishwasher, am very careful with my water and there's only 2 people here.

I asked for a meter to be fitted 6 months ago and am still waiting. I think I will chase them up.

BrownSuga · 04/04/2008 14:32

£260 on a meter, 2 adults, 1 baby, 1/2 child. inlaws not on meter and they pay more.

bluefox · 04/04/2008 14:37

£338 per year unmetered.

bellavita · 04/04/2008 16:36

£540 - for 4 of us. We do not waste water.

We are on a meter.

thames valley, unmetered hmmm about 240 per year (small 3 bed terrace)

Yurtgirl · 04/04/2008 20:42

£25 X 12 = £300 which has now gone up to £28 a month, not on a meter, seems very reasonable to me

ingles2 · 04/04/2008 20:44

£400 unmetered on South East Water

mad4mybaby · 04/04/2008 20:58

blimey! Some of you are paying the earth!! Ive just realised since we moved in dec 06 we havent paid any waste/sewerage and we owe £218 on that aswell!! So i do pay more like most of you! They have set up dd so will now be paying nearly £50 p/m. When i first got married in 2002 we only paid £10 a month!!

ranting · 04/04/2008 21:03

We're metered and we're 36 quid a month.

LIZS · 04/04/2008 21:04

about £230 metered

oooggs · 04/04/2008 21:10

we pay £25 p/m (£300 a year) on a meter to south-west water (Cornwall) there are 5 of us ds1 (4) dts (12mths) and we don't waste water.

oooggs · 04/04/2008 21:11

the rates are over £600 p/a so water meter is much better for us

2GIRLS · 04/04/2008 21:16

We don't pay anything , at the moment anyway-they tried to bring in water charges which for me would have been over £300 per year, but there was a national outcry and they have put it off. It's supposed to come in thsi year now but it might be put off again.

yurt1 · 04/04/2008 22:25

We should switch to meter (south west water) but ds1 goes through phases of constantly running water.

I must check it out properly - but in case it's of interest to anyone else you can switch to a meter and then if you someone in the house with (certain I think) disabilities then you can have your rates capped. I must see if ds1 qualifies as he does generate extra washing.
