Which silicone spray to you recommend for curtain rails?!

I need to get a spray for allowing the curtain hooks to glide along the rail. There are loads on Amazon and I don't know which to get. One of them is WD40. I don't know whether it's the same WD40 that I've used on door hinges, but that has a fishy smell and drips and is very oily. I want to make sure that whatever spray I get for the curtain rail won't drip onto my curtains and stain them!

If there's one that you've used and found to be good, I'd be grateful to know!

For wooden rails, I've rubbed a candle along the rail.

Have they changed the smell of WD40? It used to smell divine!

Furniture polish will do the job, though, you don't need a specific spray.

Also, don't spray the rail, spray onto kitchen roll and then wipe the rail!

Thank you for the replies!

Another vote for good old furniture polish. Never even realised there was such a thing as a dedicated curtain rail lubricant!

I don't recall WD40 smelling fishy Hmm

Trots off to sniff WD40
