Please help me decide on a duvet before I drive my DH insane!

We've recently upgraded to a king size bed and I absolutely love it but desperately need some nice new bedding to go with it.
I've got everything else but I can not decide on a duvet and I am driving my DH mad browsing and shopping for duvets. I've only ever bought cheaper duvets and really want to get this right and get something we will love and will last

  • We don't like wool duvets
  • I want a lightweight but puffy cloud duvet - like they have in fancy hotels
  • I want one that crinkles a bit but not like a crisp packet
-10.5 tog or all season duvet
  • not bothered about hypoallergenic
  • budget of about £100

I recently bought the Dorma sumptuous like down duvet from dunhelm but I was rushing with DC and don't feel like I got a good feel for it. I don't want to take it out the box and not be able to return it

I'm also waiting on a delivery of the deluxe Hungarian goose feather and down from M&S, as it was on sale, but it's not in my local store to test it out!

Does anyone have these and can recommend or please hit me up with any other suggestions! Thank you!

for king size? not a chance that you will get a premium one or even close to.

You’ll need to just go fibre filled with that budget

check on you're fave hotel website they often mention their suppliers and have links to both mattresses and bedding.
from there you can contact other retailers for better pricing.

We have a lovely down one but agree you won’t get one for that price. We stayed in a lovely lodge over the summer and the bedding was to die for, I ended up buying a mattress topper, pillows and would have bought the duvet too if we’d needed one. From a website called Out Of Eden.

Mine's from Dusk, their pricier down all- seasons one. It makes me so happy every time I get under it. It's fluffy and puffy and it makes the right noise. It was more than £100, can't remember how much, but it's worth it.

I got a goose feather one from dunelm , it's very nice and lasting well

muddyford · 05/03/2024 17:08

Look at M&S as they have 40% off much of their bedding. I fancy a feather and down all season duvet, a bit over £100.

I'd go for an ikea one.. so many to choose from.. I'm certain you will find one to suit.

Next "like down' duvet.

I bought a superking one for under £100, and it is absolutely lush.

Recommended to me by a friend, and comes highly recommended from me!

We’ve got the Dorma Like Down summer duvet and I really like it. We just had to replace our winter duvet but we couldn’t get hold of that one so we got an alternative but I don’t love it tbh. I’d stick with the Dorma if it was me.
