I'm sure it's been done before, but what little tricks do you have that make you happy?

oh thanks for asking.

Took 2 hours to get the nerve out (of the smashed tooth) and mend not so badly broken one (next to it) so they decided not to saw my jaw in the same afternoon. Am waiting for another date and then they will drill through jaw, cut away some bone and grab smashed tooth out arrghhh. Wish they had done it all at once in a way. Will probably be middle/end of April.

How are you feeling now?

I phone a friend I haven't spoken to for ages and while I'm chatting I go round picking stuff up and putting it back where it belongs. Amazing how much sorting you can get done that way and it doesn't seem like a chore at all.

WishIWasAWalton · 22/03/2008 22:32

Don't you just hate fummyel a bit gummy?

I dont know why this workd quicker but it does.

When you cant see the floor for rubbish, toys, clothes etc, rather than put it all away as you go, pick it all up, chuck it on the sofa, hoover the floor and everything else before you tackle the pileon the sofa some how its much easier and quicker that way.

I noticed that too - when I had to tidy my room as a kid!

LuLuMacGloo · 22/03/2008 22:40

WishIWasaWalton - be afraid, be very afraid...

Flibbertyjibbet · 22/03/2008 22:41

Switch the lights off in the lounge and watch tv in the dark so we can't see all the toys all over the floor

Jackstini · 22/03/2008 22:43

Get a cleaner

Flubdub · 22/03/2008 22:43

Mop - and THEN hoover. If you hoover first, and then mop, the mop just leaves bits everywhere, and drags them out of corners and thing, and then it doesnt look like you've done ANYTHING!

PABLOP · 22/03/2008 22:46

LuLuMacGloo, I'm going to try it your way tomorrow

WishIWasAWalton · 22/03/2008 22:49

Calisteregg, DH reckons if his mother had threatened to get her noo noo out, he would have eaten his lego collection!!!

Every time I wash a duvet set, i always store the sheet, duvet cover and pillowcases inside one of the top pillowcases so I'm not hunting around the mess that is the airing cupboard for the full set!!

LuLuMacGloo · 22/03/2008 22:58

Pablop - do try it - it's strangely satisfying . The important thing is not to 'peek' ie 'Okay, I'm putting away the pants and before I'm even at the laundry basket I'm eyeing up the next item...'. DO NOT CAST YOUR EYE AROUND UNTIL THE PANTS ARE IN THE LAUNDRY BASKET then let your eye falls on the next item and you're off again in one smooth move...

WishIWasAWalton · 22/03/2008 23:05

LuLu, repeat after me....I must get a life....I must get a life

OP posts:
WishIWasAWalton · 22/03/2008 23:08

So if your on the way to the laundry basket, and you see another item that is also headed for the basket, you DON'T pick it up on the way, but you go back to it and take it to the laundry basket just for the excersise?

OP was for time SAVING tips!! not how to drive yourself insane!

justhavingamoan · 22/03/2008 23:13

get a cleaner!

LuLuMacGloo · 22/03/2008 23:13

NO WishIWasAWalton - to pick up two items would be deeply wrong.

I must get a life.
I must get a life.

When you're cooking, make several portions to freeze. It's amazing just to be able to defrost one morning instead of cooking in the evening.. . . .

Do clean just one room a day. It'll take you 30 mins to do the bathroom on Monday. Then the bedroom on Tuesday.

And just rub the taps in the bathroom sink with a towel every morning when cleaning your teeth. Makes it look clean. Makes them think it's clean. . . . .

WishIWasAWalton · 22/03/2008 23:15

But you know i'll be doing it tomorrow, AND i'll be telling my friends about it by next weekend.

I must get a life.
I must get a life......

I have small children. I have no life. Yet. It will come back. (Won't it?)
