How much clean do you do a day?

I feel like I just clean and tidy all day but my house is never as clean as I would like!

Most days

Wash dishes 4/5 times a day (waiting on new dishwasher arriving next week)

Hoover living room, hallway and kitchen

Clean downstairs bathroom

Spot clean sofas as needed

General wipe around with zoflora

Wipe toddlers fingerprints off furnitur

Mop kitchen floor

clean the kitchen sides as needed

One load of laundry a day

My weekly jobs are

Change everyone's bedding

Wash all windows in house

Hoover bedrooms and wipe down with zoflora

Clean the bathrooms

Deep clean recycling bins

Do all the ironing

Clean the car.

I also try to organise and declutter every week if I have the energy and time.

I always feel like everything is all piling up and I never have the beautiful clean home like all those women on instagram. Is it just me or is everyone like this? Forgot to mention I have a 22 month old ds who doesn't go to nursery and a newborn.

I’m at a different stage of life and did have a cleaner when children were small and beyond. I even kept her on when I first retired but then she gave up cleaning and I haven’t replaced her. That’s an indication of how much I hate it.

There is however no washing up piling up ever. I have a robot vacuum that gets sets off most days. Stuff like recycling bins and windows getting washed I could not tell you the last time they were done.

I iron very infrequently and change bedding every 2 weeks. I keep a set of scruffs for gardening and hiking so get multiple uses out of them, kept on a chair in the conservatory. If I’m getting a bit of mud on my trousers hiking then I will the next time as well so who cares.

When I had small children they ate in their high chair, none of this wandering about with snacks everywhere malarkey. I also had a playpen in the kitchen so I could whizz about safely. They are healthy, sociable adults with lots of friends so don’t appear traumatised with being curtailed sometimes by high chair or playpen.

I am so glad I do not give a shiny shite about the lives of others on social media.

I could have written this.

Honestly OP spend the time enjoying your dc.
It sounds corny, but it is very true - this time will be gone in a flash. Don't waste it doing housework-y things that don't even need doing.

But I'm not sure why your toddler is eating in the car all the time (?)

i personally only clean windows when they look visibly awful...certainly not once a week and I definitely don't iron.

I'm so amazed at these people cleaning their bathrooms daily and washing bedding weekly. Now feeling very slovenly lol.

Every day:

Wash up after each meal plus when there are glasses and cups in the sink

Hoover all of downstairs

Wipe over dining room table

Wipe down surfaces as needed (few times a day)

Clean upstairs and downstairs bathroom (sink, bath and toilet)

Many, many loads of washing and drying!

Every week:

Mop all of downstairs, plus vinyl in upstairs bathroom and DS2 bedroom

Wipe over desks and drawers in DC bedrooms

Strip bedding, wash and dry then remake beds

I also try to dust, clean windows and hoover the car about once a fortnight.

Why do u clean the bathrooms every day?

You could alternate 1 every 2 days.. They'd still be clean!

Mon - upstairs
Weds - down
Fri - up
Sun - down etc

I know.

They pick up a lot of dust, in my defence. And I have two Bengal cats who like to sit in the bath

At least 2 or 3 times a day for me. Hard floors and multiple cats are unforgiving. We have a cordless vacuum though, so it's not a lot of effort.

Same here with cats and a stick hoover with a tiny battery. A few minutes in the morning and a few minutes in the evening makes a huge difference for keeping on top of pet fluff.

I've since bought a Eufy robot vacuum too. Its brilliant! I set it off first thing in the morning to bumble its way round, leaving me to do other stuff.
