Bath Toys are Vile

Well ours are anyway! I keep meaning to do something (like soak them in milton) but obviously not high up on my list of priorities (or I'd go and do it now), I just wince when one of the DCs squeezes another mangey duck and all that black sh*te floats round the bath - bleeurrghh.

Is this the bit where I am outed as a complete scrubber and everyone else sterilises their bath toys weekly?

lol it wouldn't be toxic, can you imagine the lawsuits by now .

snowleopard · 13/03/2008 21:56

I don't see why not - scary toxic mould can grow anywhere that's damp, it's just an issue of whether a particular mould's spores happen to be around and get into a damp place. the manufacturer can't control that, any more than a manufacturer of kitchen tiles or dark, dank cellars.

uuughhh

lol this thread has made me chuckle, have often wondered about the black gunk spat out of toys, i must confess to throwing them out every so often and buying new ones, cos it looks revolting. was unsure of the health hazard so thought i'd be precautious

We 'lost' all our bath toys when we last moved house.

Flamesparrow · 14/03/2008 08:26

We had to soak and clean ours the other week... DS sh*t in the bath Great incentive to spur you on

We had 2 ducks which swam away one night, back to the black gunk pond. So happy to know lots of other mingers out there. Oh and Sassy may not get gunked up but boy will she stink after a while.

JingleyJen · 17/03/2008 23:04

we got rid of the squeezy toys and kept ones that can go in the dishwasher once a month.

Gingerbear · 17/03/2008 23:10

ours get soaked in bleach once a week.
Lol at ducks with no bumholes - we have one without a hole, and it is weighted at the bottom so it always floats upright.
