I find it difficult and not good at it.
Any tips?

My iron broke just before Xmas 2019. I bought a new one in the January sales. It’s still in the sealed box 🙃

Didnt need to iron through lockdown and after that I just gave up along with most of my other social airs and graces 😂 but I did get a handheld steamer which DH uses for the occasional wedding shirt (all his work shirts are non-iron and are fine if hung up to dry) and the odd bit for me. I mainly avoid fabric that needs ironing. DC either wear creased clothes because IDGAF about kids clothes unless they’re at a wedding, or I buy eg non-iron uniform.

I don't iron anything unless it looks very creased, and then I just iron it right before wearing.

My favourite household chore. Also do my daughters. Put on a box set and get rattled in. My sil wouldn't have a work shirt if I didn't do it.

Decent clean steam iron. Decent ironing board with a good flat cover and ideally a felt pad. This really speeds things up.

I do a lot of ironing and use a spray bottle of water, particularly useful for cotton and linen.

Oh yes a spray bottle is essential! The iron spray function just doesn't cut it.

I also have a bottle of spray starch for stubborn cotton or linen, though that's only used a few times a year at most.
