Is there such a thing as a firm mattress topper?

We have a mattress in our house that is in good condition but not really firm enough for the user. I don't want to get rid of the whole thing, so hoping to buy a topper to make it more comfortable/extend it's life.

Does anyone have one and would you recommend it and where did you buy it?

Tia.

If the mattress underneath sinks too much, whatever you put on top of it will also sink.
Is it a problem with the base of the bed. Can you insert boarding between the base and the mattress to make it firmer?

I'm no help on brands but they do exist. If you buy an Emma mattress and find it too soft, they will send you a firmer topper. I would be a bit dubious about how much extra support it really adds though. I'm not sure I'd trust it if I had a bad back for example - the underlying sagginess will still be there.

However I would agree with @Flossflower, check the bed base and consider whether a bedboard underneath the mattress would help.

No it's definitely not worth it and won't work
