Apart from having a laugh at my expense, can you recommend how to get moss out?

So, today, I go the power hose thingy out on the drive (very suburban I know). Its got those bricks all over and cos it hasn't been looked after for years, is full of moss in the cracks. Slippy after rain, so got to be done.

Only problem, jet water bounced back, sprayed me with mud. Splattered all over - it was in my hair, face, all over clothes. Even had gritty bits in my mouth. There I was, all dressed smart for going out this afternoon, covered in mud which was perfectly spotted across my face.

So, is this really the best way of doing it? Or should I get on my hands and knees and scrape it out?

lol...at being dressed all nicely to go out, lol..
anyway, whilst I really don't know much about it, I remember vaguely that it' s has to be scraped out deply and than you put in some sort of poison to make the moss not grow anymore, or you just have to repeat as necessary!

Sorry but I really PMSL!
Poor you!
Power blasting won't kill the moss, it'll just take the top layer off and it'll grow back again. Old-fashioned method is 50:50 bleach and water to kill the moss but it's probably crappy for the environment, on reflection. Garden centres will probably have other options. HTH.

Thank you ladies, DH was in stitches as well. Was Very funny.

Will check out moss killer stuff then, I hadn't thought about that. But yes, I don't want to have to repeat the whole process again next year.

i would recommend putting the moss killer down and then brshing with a wire broom (you can get them at garden centres and hardware stores) as that will rip most of the moss out and is much less faff than power washing

Jeyes fluid will kill the moss. Put a strong solution down, leave it for an hour or so the sweep the worst off. Do it again a couple of weeks later and that should be the end of the moss for at least a year.
Sorry for hysterics at your facepack.
