toilet seat fittings - chrome plating coming off ,v messy .What to do ?

Seat about 6 months old ,cost about £40 .It's so unsightly and I'm constantly cleaning .No doubt making it worse .
Apart from replacing ,what can I do ??

Tell your DH to improve his aim

Well,if he'd even lift the seat and not pee all over that it would be a start .The splatter pattern doesn't suggest he's reaching the hinges at the back .Sigh .

Tell your dh to piss sitting

and to order a replacement seat

You may be able to replace just the fittings, cost around £5.
