Can I use generic carpet cleaner in a spot wash cleaner?

I’m presuming I can because they are both for cleaning carpets but I can’t seem to compare concentrations and the spot wash is expensive.

I was going to when the more expensive stuff ran out.

Or do the old fashioned way of cleaning with carpet clearer or washing up liquid foam and use the spot cleaner to rinse it off.

(With plain water)
