Are birkinstocks a good idea for indoor shoes?

We dont wear outdoor shoes in my house so my daughter(17) likes to wear her flip flops around the house since she dosent wear socks indoors but does not want to always be completely barefoot all the time. Even when her friends come around it's off with the shoes and socks and on with the flip flops. They are getting badly worn now and she told me that one of her friends wears birkinstock sandals in her house. Are birkinstocks good house shoes?(I will probably get them anyway because the poor flip flops have gone through war but just want to know if anyone else here wears birks at home and if you daughter likes them) thank you 👍

Yes absolutely. I’ve got some. I’ve got the rubber ones for in the house though and wear with socks. . I’ve got my eye on the sheepskin lined ones.

Both DH and I have Birkenstocks for indoor shoes. Cork soles are a good insulator and easy to slip on and off.

I wear the Arizona Eva indoors - they are so computer and then with socks on winter.

Totalky suitable. I live in Germany where everyone takes their shoes off at home / school / nursery and wears slippers. Birkenstocks are pretty common especially with teachers / nursery staff. At home I prefer something with a flexible sole so I can run up and down the stairs and love my Gießwein slippers (so warm!) I have Birkenstocks as garden shoes that I slip on if I need to nip outside with the rubbish etc and love them too.

They are expensive but yes, they are ideal for indoor use especially if you get sore feet

For a cheaper but similar alternative, I got a lovely pair of Birkenstock style clogs, fleece lined, from Mountain Warehouse for just this reason. Under £30 in the sales.
