Bleugh. Have seen under the rim of my toilet...

It's vile. That Zero Limescale stuff isn't doing much, even after two overnight soakings.

Anyone know where I can get hold of acetic acid? My mum used to use it for limescale, but she got hold of it via catering suppliers (vinegar making). No idea where to look myself.

Or, does anyone have any other bright ideas?

Clearly I am a baaaad housekeeper.

Coke is supposed to work - or vinegar does. But I don't know how you'd get it to stay under the rim long enough for it to work.

We're in a soft water area so I tend just to use an old toothbrush and some elbow grease (trying to be green!).

I thought acetic acid was vinegar?? No? Clearly watching the science experiments in work have not taught me much as I thought Could you mix it with something solid (baking soda?) to make a paste so it will stick/help lift stuff off?

On some housekeeping programme they poured whatever it was you are using to clean over a load of cotton wool, completely soaking it and stuffed that under the rim.

Never tried it so no idea if it actually works.
