To think it's not unusual to own more than one vacuum?

Or am I mad?

I have a Henry which I bought about 8 years ago, love him and he's never gone wrong but it's never just a quick clean up with it. Mainly just use him for the car and cleaning up after diy projects now or when I'm spring cleaning and want to get in every gap. I have since got a dog and Henry not good on pet hair.

about 4 years ago I bought a cordless dyson v7 which is still going okay with several new parts but I love it for quick clean ups, okay with pet hair

last year I bought a shark, I have owned a shark previously and didn't last long but decided on a new one. I bought it because my daughter suffers from allergies and it's great for getting every last bit of dust up.

henry is in the cupboard, dyson on the wall and shark gets left out so doesn't take up too much room.

also have a crappy handheld for the car which I wish I never bought and it's pants.

Dp thinks I'm mad. Mil thinks I'm mad! Everyone thinks I am mad.

I have owned other brands in the past that broke after a year - hoover, vax etc!

but they all have their own purpose in a busy family home with a dog and kids!

I w got 3 - a Henry for proper cleaning, a Gtech cordless for quick going over and a handheld for nocks and crannies.

We have 4.

A cannister one for general use.

A roomba for my workspace.

Then the two my younger son bought. He has an upright and a handheld for his room. He doesn't like the cannister type and he likes to vacuum his bed and surfaces.

He's available, gentlemen. This man hoovers his hoover and tidies as he goes 😁

Where do you keep them? I’m stumped and I just have one.

Not all in our main house! One in each holiday/rental property. One on our boat. Three in main house (two separate upstairs areas and one downstairs) plus one for annexe and a small mini vacuum for clearing spillage, car or table area.

I have two Mieles, one upstairs and one downstairs.

SparklersandSausages · 20/11/2022 18:31

3 robovacs
1 robowasher
1 Henry washer
2 Miele cat & dogs

They all have a purpose and reason - the robovacs run round daily, the Miele c&d’s live on different floors and are for weekly full cleans and the Henry washer is for cleaning carpets.

We have 4 floors of cream carpet, shoes on and hairy pets though, the full house for Mumsnet carpet horror bingo Grin

I think your thread title is going to skew answers towards multiple vacuums. I don't know anyone in real life who has more than one - not even my PILs whose house is massive!
I don't think it's particularly weird though, it's certainly a luxury but a small one so nothing unusual for a wealthy country like the UK.

We have two a cheap henry type one for car and diy clean up and then did have upright hoover which just broke so bought a handheld to use daily

Gosh this is surprising. I have one that rarely gets used. Mostly hard floors and I just sweep with a broom 🤷🏼‍♀️

I would do the same if I had hard floors but sadly I got carpet everywhere apart from kitchen and bathroom 😅 desperate to change to hard floor as I think it will help my daughters allergies but the budget won't stretch at the moment!

It’s much colder than carpets if you’re looking for a positive!

LBFseBrom · 21/11/2022 18:35

I have one that works (and a couple that don't :-)).

My mum used to have one for upstairs and another for downstairs!

I have five Blush and I rarely vacuum ... my least favourite chore! We have a three storey house ... two Orek vacuum cleaners on the top floor ... only really use one but haven't got the energy to get rid of the other one. A Shark for the middle floor and a Miele for the ground floor ... plus a small handheld one. And I have no pets and one DS away at Uni!

KnottyKnitting · 21/11/2022 18:49

I have a shark lift away which I rarely use as it is heavy and noisy ( and I seem to spend more time unblocking it than using it, anti hair wrap my arse! ) I also have a eufy robot vac (AKA Bernard) who zips around doing all the work while I get on with something else!
