To think it's not unusual to own more than one vacuum?

Or am I mad?

I have a Henry which I bought about 8 years ago, love him and he's never gone wrong but it's never just a quick clean up with it. Mainly just use him for the car and cleaning up after diy projects now or when I'm spring cleaning and want to get in every gap. I have since got a dog and Henry not good on pet hair.

about 4 years ago I bought a cordless dyson v7 which is still going okay with several new parts but I love it for quick clean ups, okay with pet hair

last year I bought a shark, I have owned a shark previously and didn't last long but decided on a new one. I bought it because my daughter suffers from allergies and it's great for getting every last bit of dust up.

henry is in the cupboard, dyson on the wall and shark gets left out so doesn't take up too much room.

also have a crappy handheld for the car which I wish I never bought and it's pants.

Dp thinks I'm mad. Mil thinks I'm mad! Everyone thinks I am mad.

I have owned other brands in the past that broke after a year - hoover, vax etc!

but they all have their own purpose in a busy family home with a dog and kids!

I have 2, bought a shark during the hype and then realised not as good as my sebo so couldn't part with it. Now use both for different jobs!

for big vacuuming events

😂 This tickled me!

😁. I have those days where I rip through the whole house and if it can't go in the washing machine, it gets vacuumed to within an inch of it's life. No cordless can meet those demands. I love those days.

So pleased I've found this thread - currently considering buying another vacuum cleaner and DH thinks I'm mad.

I have a cordless Dyson for downstairs - for quick cleaning usually on daily basis as have hairy dog. Upstairs I have an old Miele (at least 15yo) which I want to replace - either with a Shark or another Miele.

DS has a dust allergy which I want to minimise - any recommendations? Which Shark do you have @Userno36367363 ? @WHEREEL I hadn't considered the Henry but will add to shortlist - what made you choose it?

Henry is not good for allergy sufferers I don't think, I do just have the standard Henry though, I think someone else mentioned an allergy version? I do quite often use Henry with the round brush attachment on the house to pick up dust around the house though rather than using a cloth and polish 😅

I have a shark lift away NZ801UK, there's probably newer models now but it does pick up a lot, I vacuum every day and often with dyson v7 for a quick go around but the shark always finds something to pick up - my dog does shed constantly. I've noticed a definite improvement in DD's symptoms - it toon a lot do convincing Dp to get one as he thought it wouldn't help, but it has helped her symptoms. I got it around Black Friday last year!

reviews on sharks can be hit and miss. Some people love, some loathe! I've had one before and the hose split in a place where it was impossible to fix so this is my second one! They do pick up a lot of fine particles!

No, I know exactly what you mean! 😂

dottypencilcase · 19/11/2022 15:13

I have a Miele cat and dog 3 new version downstairs and the Miele cat and dog 2 for upstairs. No regrets.

zurala · 19/11/2022 15:15

I don't know anyone with multiple vacuums. I think it's quite odd. One is enough!

mrsbyers · 19/11/2022 15:15

We have three , Henry for heavy duty jobs , cordless dyson for a quick flick around and a eufy for downstairs hardfloors

TheProvincialLady · 19/11/2022 15:17

We have a Miele, a shark, a roomba and a crappy old Dyson in the loft which is just for DIY cleanup.

Alacarde · 19/11/2022 15:18

My elderly parents have an upstairs one and a downstairs one, because they can't manage taking it up and downstairs.

We've got a normal vac and a wet/dry vac.

WolvesOfTheCalla · 19/11/2022 15:20

I have a basic Eufy downstairs that’s set up to go round in the evenings, a Henry upstairs for the dust mite allergies we have and a cheap rechargeable stick thing in the kitchen.

alanabennett · 19/11/2022 15:30

I think you're mad 😂

I have three kids and a big dog - we have one cordless Dyson that gets used every day. It lives in our laundry room in our basement.

Consumerism gone mad.

After reading the post from someone who has give, I have to agree.

alanabennett · 19/11/2022 15:34

*Five, that should say.

RitaSueAndBobTo · 19/11/2022 17:23

I own 7 so wrong person to ask really Grin

LondonQueen · 20/11/2022 16:03

I have 3 hoovers. Also have a mini handheld in the car which is okay for a quick clean up when hou don't have time to get it valeted.

Flossflower · 20/11/2022 17:51

We have 2. We have a Sebo that has lasted for years. It is very powerful and does a wonderful job. It is however, heavy to use. My husband does the weekly thorough vacuuming with this. We also have a hand held Shark that I love that I use for in between main cleans.

Peedoffo · 20/11/2022 17:53

I have 3, A Henry upstairs , a Hetty downstairs and a Gtech cordless one. I only like bagged vaccum cleaners bagless ones are shit, fiddly and break more often.

Stuckforlong · 20/11/2022 18:01

Was discussing this last week at work and most people own more than one . I have a Dyson( use on the carpet and for cat hair) , Hoover ( use on the flooring)and Gtech ( for the car )

Pixiedust1234 · 20/11/2022 18:04

I used to have one upstairs, one downstairs and one handheld. Then I got diagnosed with a prolapse which makes pushing/pulling a heavy vacuum a big no-no as it makes it worse. So another three hoovers later...I'm now looking at Black Friday deals. All I want is a lightweight one that works!!

wetpebbles · 20/11/2022 18:06

Have 2 Henry's which I have passed onto hubby for cleaning cars and chimneys/diy, so they are kept in the shed.
I now have uprights for uostairs and downstairs (and a eufy which I don't use)

Greytea · 20/11/2022 18:10

I only have one… I’m in a three-storey house. I wouldn’t know where to put several vacuum cleaners! It’s hard enough storing one - it lives in the dining room.

fizzyfood · 20/11/2022 18:11

Some people have one upstairs and one downstairs.

CaronPoivre · 20/11/2022 18:13

Purely based on vacuum ownership, we have eight. Plus one our daughter has 'borrowed' for her flat that we'll never have returned.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/11/2022 18:15

We have a Miele corded for big jobs, a lovely cordless Shark (my fave) for daily run arounds, and a handheld for spills. We'd only have one, but I can't really use the Miele as it makes my shoulders subluxate.

Where do you keep them? I’m stumped and I just have one.
