Brand new pair of cream jeans + unexpected period. Is there any way of saving them? Currently soaking in bucket of cold water but stain had dried in.

Milk! Soak them in milk instead of water. Milk is one of those old-school methods of getting blood out of clothes.
Just put some milk in a bowl, put the affected area of the jeans in the bowl to soak for a good couple hours, or half a day if possible, and then wash as normal.

Hydrogen peroxide saved a pair of cream suede boots I fell over in and bled all over. It fizzes the blood out. Thoroughly recommend a patch test though.

Use one of these stain remover bars with enzymes, they're amazing for removing stains before the wash: Elbow Grease Yellow Stain Remover Bar, 100 g amzn.eu/1UwmWS0 then wash (on an eco wash so a bit cooler) with vanish oxi action powder added.

Put salt in the water

Prepare a thick paste of salt and cold water. Apply it onto the stain. Let it stay like about 10-20 minutes. Salt has strong dehydrating properties and will lift up the water and the blood. After the time is up use more cold water to rinse the stain.

Did you put loads of salt in the water leave over night . I did this with a light pink denim jacket blood every where when stbx had a fit. Put in bath it worked a treat.

Put salt in the water

Don't do this. Salt in the water will set the stain in, not remove it.

One of the best things for getting blood out of textiles used to be Borax, but since the formulation changed, I don't know if it works as well as it did.

Hang on the line on a sunny day

Salt removes the stain...I have done it many times

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 30/09/2022 16:18

Midwife friend always says salt and cold water for getting out blood.

Yes. Waitrose own brand spray stain remover. It is magical. Whatever your clothes are stained with, it brings them back to their normal state without harming the original colour.

Soak over night in cold salt water. Then hot wash.

Roselilly36 · 05/10/2022 07:45

Yes I would say, salt in water too and soak.
