I'd really like to be my target weight...9 stone 1lb, I have always been about that (before kids)
I can see that it is going to be fairly hard to keep that weight if I ever get there, my lifestyle and stuff is just completely different now...and of course your metabolism slows down as you get older.
As I was bopping away earlier...I thought about how active I used to be...I mean I can remember going to nightclubs and bopping about like that...but for hours at a time!!

is it a total fly cheat if I pay a cleaner to do 2 hours a week?

My friend has just told me her friend who is a cleaner has 2 hours spare each week - that would cost nearly all the childbenefit I get for DS1 (£16)

I have sat here and thought - I would still have to tidy each day and hoover through most days and swish swipe the bathrooms each morning - but it would mean that the places I have tidied would be properly clean - Am I throwing away £16 per week or will I see a benefit?

EHM · 23/01/2008 14:54

just wanted to pop in & say Hi! Having bad day Ellie is sticking to me like glue, I can't stop eating sodding Malted Milk Cow Biscuits.

FGS really good news about dd1.

Everybody else sorry can say individual repies have tried several times today to type a post.only for that post to be deleted by my handy little helper

Hope to be less clingy tomorrow[sad

Janni · 23/01/2008 15:13

EHM - sorry you're having a hard day with your DD. JigleyJen - in my experience it depends on the cleaner. If they're really good it's wonderful. I don't have one now because I used to stress myself out clearing up and feeling we had to all be out of the house .. Only you can decide. Don't worry what anyone else thinks - there's enough housework for you to be 'allowed' two hours help!!

TheMadHouse · 23/01/2008 16:13

EHM I so sympathise with you. DS2 is going through that stage too. Not that it makes things for you any easier.

Jen Depends on if you would pnly clean before or after the cleaner. When I had my M/c last year DH got one in and she was great, infact I have recomended her to people and if we could afford it I would use her more often.

I have the washer on again and I have also changed the childrens beds. Dinner is sorted and the children do not need a bather tonight, as I showered them at swimming.

Janni · 23/01/2008 16:22

To do: dinner prep, clear hallway, sort DS2's schoolbooks, phone refuse dept.

Hope the dreaded late afternoon/evening with DCs goes well for everyone!

NineUnlikelyTales · 23/01/2008 16:49

Jen I never got on with having a cleaner. It was while I was still poorly after DS birth and she did 5 hours a week but even though I watched her work hard all that time the house is cleaner when I do it myself

My thumb has stopped hurting now so I am thinking maybe it has died and is about to drop off? But I seem to be able to type again so it's not all bad!

TheMadHouse · 23/01/2008 18:24

Dinner and PJ's out of the way. It is not not so quite time or the witching hour as it is also known in this house.

DH has to do some work tonight, so I will be having a bath and getting that blasted ironing done.

Grouchyoscar · 23/01/2008 20:29

I've been productive today I have

I've done my morning routines
I've been to work
I collected Ed from the childminder
I've bought my neice some really nice birthday cards
I've made dinner
I've done my bedtime routine
I've shared books with Ed til he snuggled down and fell asleep.

DH is sick, I thing he's got the same thing that laid Ed up on Monday. So of course he can't possibly do anything but stay in bed can he.

I am utterly shattered now. I have a busy day tomorrow so I better get a good night's sleep.

Nighty night all

Grouchyoscar · 23/01/2008 20:35

Oh NUT sympathies re the thumb. Before Christmas I was making a corned beef pie and I managed to slice into my left thumb with a very sharpe kitchen knife and do my right thumb in with the corned beef tin. I'm a danger to myself really.

Mind you, it was the best CB pie I've done. AB- blood may be the new worcestershire sauce

tortoise · 23/01/2008 20:55

Evening all.
NUT Hope the finger gets better soon.
Bianca Well done on weight loss.
Luda Well done too. You have made a great start.

I am crap with food as usual! Hopefully will feel up to jogging tomorrow. Need to get back into it.

My downstairs is looking ok, been very busy tidying when ive had time today. And front room is nearly ready for anyone to see it! Kitchen is nearly there. Just need to do bathroom tomorrow and then mine and DD's room tomorrow/Friday. Also need to pick up some of the toys/bits outside in case Greyhound lady wants to look round the garden too!
Really getting excited at the thought of having a dog for company. And to take out on walks.

Bewilderbeast · 23/01/2008 20:58

Evening all

yet another diabolically bad day at work again today bangs head on desk
NUT ouch, poor you
EHM malted milk biccies are yummy, hopefully ellie lets you have your hands tomorrow
GO glad ed was feeling a bit better today

done

filled a bin bag with the rubbish dp leaves everywhere - don't know why he can't find the bin
rescued the bin from the end of the street
picked ds up from my parent's
dinner made and eaten
washing up done
dw loaded and on
breadmaker on
ds bathed and read to. DP is just getting him to sleep I'm showered and hair is washed, I am now watching masterchef in my jammies
Shouted at british gas
sorted out house insurance

DontDreamItBeIt · 23/01/2008 22:19

I did a long post of all the things I've done today earlier, but then I deleted it by mistake.

The summary of my day would be

New bath (in shed)
No paint on walls
Lots of blue paint on my capets
Late for Brownies (twice)
No camera batteries for enrollment pics
Purse in Tescos car park

But A very honest lady found it, identified me, rang me, and delivered it to my house

I've read he thread, but forgot what I wanted to say.

I'll try and FLY tomorrow.

tortoise · 23/01/2008 22:23

Wow Jas that was lucky.

Janni · 23/01/2008 23:43

GO and Tort - well done for getting so much done.DDBI - isn't it great when someone helps you out like that?

Went to sleep at same time as DD tonight so am now wide awake!
