Hi,
Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all the people on here who reviewed or reccommended a robot vacuum, in varoious differnet places. I kept coming across the name 'Eufy'. So I researched it further (as well as researching loads of others) had great reviews and I got one delivered yesterday.

I got the Eufy 30c and it was on offer, so even better. I've not had one before, so nothing to compare with, but love it so far.

Thanks MN

I've had mine over 12 months and I still love her to pieces!
I have her scheduled to do our main room every night at 2am, I empty her every few days, it's amazing how much she collects even though it's daily.
She's also then charged up for the daytime, does the hall several times a week and other rooms occasionally

NoToLandfill · 09/05/2022 20:39

Keep emptying it & keep the brushes clear. The little cutter thing it comes with is amazingly useful. We also love ours. Am considering a robot lawnmower seeing as how good the house robot is!

HappyCup · 09/05/2022 20:41

I hear you! I absolutely love mine.

I have a reference code if anyone’s thinking of getting one.

Do it! Our robot mower is amazing. I love him. Maybe even more than the robot hoover. Or at least just as much!

I got rid of my last robot because hairs kept clogging it up every five minutes. I am interested in a Eufy. Does anybody know how it's consumption of electricity compares to a standard vacuum?

prescribingmum · 10/05/2022 10:27

I have been tempted by these for a while - how do they handle corners?

NightmareSlashDelightful · 10/05/2022 10:31

Do they work with mesh wifi networks? (ie a main hub and then several repeaters, like Google Wifi points)

I had a Roomba but had to get rid of it when we moved because it doesn't work with a mesh system.

They have a little sweeper arms that reach spots like corners but the suction power doesn’t get right in there. I still break out my regular hoover every now and then to do those areas. But overall it makes my house so much cleaner at a drastically reduced effort.

I do have to cut the hairs, it’s annoying but still much less annoying than hoovering all the time. It doesn’t clog it up but I imagine it’s working less effectively when full of hairs. I have to do it probably every other week.

No idea on the electricity front. Eufy have a live chat function. Might be best to ask them directly.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 10/05/2022 10:46

😂 mine’s called Brian too. Best man I’ve ever had in my life!

prescribingmum · 10/05/2022 10:47

Thank you @HappyCup, seriously considering taking the plunge as we go round with out handheld almost daily and could stop this entirely.
Does it work well around chair legs?
Any negatives? (I think mine would be that we have split level living/dining so can't leave it to do both middle of night as a PP suggested)

Thanks. I may give it a whirl. I just want to have relaxed days when I can achieve a clean house without getting all sweaty and tired. It never quite worked out like that with my ex-robot but Brian may have turned my head!

Oblomov22 · 10/05/2022 10:54

Mine cleans ok. It's alright. I put Eufy on as often as I can, probably twice a week, for kitchen, lounge, hallway. Only needs emptying every couple of weeks. I cut off (it's my hairs!) from the brushes every couple of weeks.

(Did pick up lots in first few sessions and needed to be emptied mid session) and as impressive.
Do bedrooms and upstairs hallway once a month.
But I also hoover with a dyson. I think it's only because I use both that it's semi reasonable.

DeanStockwelllsBunny · 10/05/2022 10:58

I have had mine for about 3 years and still love it !
I agree with pp , keep the roller and filters clean , on the 11s The roller, bin, brush arms , black filters can all be given a hot soapy hand wash . The white filter can be washed but take care with it aa its only paper , don't wring it out let it just drip dry.
Make sure everything is very dry or it will get really clogged up before you put it back together.

Keep all cables and laces out of his way .
I recon he only misses about 2 inches into corners so about once every 3 months few weeks I did out the big vac and use the crevice tool in the corners.

Caspianberg · 10/05/2022 11:03

Ours is grand
it works with Mesh WiFi fine
Charging dock lives under the sofa so it’s all hidden.
It hoovers under our bed which never used to get done with main hoover
Also goes on every day at 7am here and generally cleans up any toddler crumbs, sand, cat hair, etc. Really helpful

Its doesn’t do corners great/ behind doors or skirting or stairs obviously so I do that occasionally. But we have few corners anyway as most have furniture in.
Ours was also a bargain in prime sale, and for about £100 ish it’s really reduced how often we would have to hoover ourselves. Ours is about 3 years old now

Floydthebarber · 10/05/2022 11:03

Would it eat up little bits of lego it finds? And if it did, would it be easy to spot them when emptying it? Dc's lack attitude to small toys is what puts me off getting one.

I couldn't say for sure re the electricity consumption but mine runs for just over a hour then takes about three hrs to charge,
He holds his charge really well so if you are not going yo run it everyday you can just turn him off
If you turn the docking station off at this point remember to turn it back on when you set him going or he won't be able to find it again
( for them that don't know once he has completed his task he takes himself back to his docking station to recharge )

Pp that said they live on a split level , if it's only one or two steps you can make a little ramp and he will be able to climb it just make sure he cant fall off the edge of the ramp

It hugs chair legs and swirls round them like a lovely dance. 😂 Every so often I pick the chairs up so it can do an uninterrupted clean though.

The negatives I would say would be the fact it can’t do very tight spaces/corners but that really isn’t a massive negative. And that you have to make sure cables etc are out of the way. But then I wouldn’t run the hoover over a load of cables either so again that’s not a massive negative.

I have a referral code. I don’t actually know what everyone gets out of it as I haven’t used it before. But I’m happy to find the email if anyone wants it - just PM me.
