  2. Buy a cheap kitchen with a expensive worktop

We have the Abstrakt one in white gloss. Actually, it was in the house when we moved in. I would not have chosen the white gloss, as you do see dirty fingerprints on it. It is easy to wipe down though.

We have had no problems with the kitchen, everything is still working perfectly. We have been in this house 2 1/2 years, and the previous owners were just over 2 years I think so the kitchen is around 5 years old.

I would go for the more expensive worktops, that is the only thing that I do not like about ours. I have seen the Abstrakt kitchen with other worktops and it looks much better.

The other thing to consider is that 100pounds sounds like a lot when you are putting the kitchen in, but you are living with the kitchen for at least 10 years.

We have an ikea kitchen, units and doors. We bought our sink taps etc from somewhere else and finished it off with a granite worktop. Our kitchen looks fab and although while fitting we had to make a few adjustments. Our kitchen looks fab and have had no problems with any aspect of the ikea part.

We have Ikea wood worktop and it is still great after 6 yrs. I would also recommend high gloss, as we didn't (we went for matte white) and they haven't lasted so well, and harder to clean. Gloss also reflects light.

well thanks everyone for your advice and i decided to go for option 2 as we are buying the Oak worktop with Applad kitchen units

many thanks again
