Shannaratiger - linking threads is exactly the same as any other link. Go to the thread you want to linkto, copy the (url?) www. bit, then go to the thread you want to post the link on, and do the http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2430/453017?stamp=080109192546#scaddmsg look here bit but with the correct spacing to get look here

Does that make sense at all?

pleease help me, give me point by point tasks pleeease

tortoise · 09/01/2008 20:59

TR Mine is the same and i seem to of lost the will to tidy. Its lack of storage and space for storage thats the problem here i think.

TrinityRhinosDhWonHerAnIPOD · 09/01/2008 21:01

hi tortoise

have you managed to declutter at all??
How did you do it???

tortoise · 09/01/2008 21:04

I have decluttered some areas! but lots still need sprting. The kids rooms are so small their toys don't all fit.
I have chucked out/given away/sold anything that was broken/no good/never used. But it is really hard to do.

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/01/2008 21:22

Hello trinity, and hello tortoise

Where is the biggest problem trinity?

The easiest place to start is toys or clothes.

If you have a loft, pack up all the toys you can that aren't played with at least once a week, and by the summer you can safely get rid of 90% of i as the dds won' even have asked for i back
Throw away everyhing that is broken!

Go through the childrens clothes wih them and get rid of everything that doesn't fit/they don't like. Recycle, charity shop, or give to friends or sell it if you can.

tortoise · 09/01/2008 21:31

Well, i have a whole day free tomorrow (after my jog) to hopefully get something done! I don't know where to start!
I want to put DS's xmas toys away but their room is a pig sty! But i don't want to waste my day in there!
DD's room is the same!

DontDreamItBeIt · 09/01/2008 22:03

Shut the doors o the kids room, and wok your way roundthe rest of the house. You'll get more visible results that way!

tortoise · 09/01/2008 22:05

lol i wish the dors would shut!
How do i do the rest of the house with theor xmas stuff in the way?
Luckily the kitchen isn't too bad. Having to wash up by hand with DW out of action!

TrinityRhino - one thing I am quite good at is decluttering, as we have moved five times in eleven years and I've got rid of lots of stuff each time. You basically have to be RUTHLESS.
You hold onto stuff that you KNOW when your LOs have children of their own you will be really sorry you got rid of and other than that you pack things up and you give them away. Pack things up anyway and give yourself say a week's breathing space to see whether you can deal with getting rid of them. If you can, give them to the nearest charity shop or nearby friend. If money is an issue, go the ebay route. That's not my thing but there are some real ebay experts on MN. I rarely find I regret getting rid of anything and the extra space and greater ease when cleaning more than makes up for any regrets. Read a book on decluttering if you find it really hard to do - we often cling on to things for subconsccious reasons and if we can break that pattern then we're home and dry.

Grouchyoscar · 09/01/2008 22:09

how do, I'm back.

Took Ed straight to the shopping centre from school. He got measured (12H fer christsake, He's 4)He got his shoes, had a happy meal and was perfectly behaved during the whole experience. I was so proud of him.

got home and done the bedtime routine. All is done and all is well

Have good evenings all
