Seen the above and am thinking of purchasing mainly due to the fact that I'm sick of constantly sweeping up bits and having dark wood floors every bit really shows up.

So my questions are:

  1. Do they work?
  2. Can they cope with dog hair? (This accounts for 80% of sweeping up in the summer)
  3. Apart from the one I've linked to, are there other recommendations? (nothing over £500)

I have a eufy and love it. I have 2 dogs (was 3 until July last year) including a huge very fluffy collie who sheds like mad. Also 2 cats and 3 kids.
My eufy goes on daily and does a briliant job of keeping the floors clean. One of the best things I have ever bought.

We have a Eufy (following a thread on MN). It's great... we have it pottering about most days. Be careful with pets around in case you haven't noticed that they have been sick (or worse). I'm speaking from experience Confused.

Would definitely recommend a Eufy they are fantastic. It's one of the best things I've ever bought. Great at picking up dog hair.

Any of the Eufy robot hoovers. We have one upstairs and one downstairs. Two highly shedding dogs (one husky mix, one Rommie something), a long haired cat and two hairy humans. They are AMAZING.

I hadn't heard of Eufy so will check it out. I'm always wary of buying something cheap especially when I have no experience of the product so I really appreciate the recommendations.

A friend of mine had a robot vacuum cleaner which smeared dogshit all over their house. Every carpet downstairs had to be replaced.

I have the iRobot roomba and it's excellent. I bought it for my large family room which has amtico flooring as I was spending my life sweeping up.

It does a great job but you have to watch out for it getting stuck under furniture and make sure wires , phone chargers etc are not in its way.

I also occasionally send it around my main living room which is carpeted and it does a really great job.

We have two cats so it fills up very quickly and needs emptying often.

Yes

Yes and long human hair

I was going to say get a self emptying one.
I use mine upstairs and down and it is always taking itself to the docking station to empty the bin. I wouldn’t be without it now. I also have the mop

Had a neato for years with a large dog who sheds loads. Absolutely love our robot hoover and wouldn't be without him!

Can't be bothered to click all those links but I have a Bagotte. DS1 has a Eufy. I prefer the Bagotte because it maps the room.

I had one about 10 years ago, so one of the early ones.

I gave up using it because the dust container with so small that I had to keep emptying it.

How often do people who like their robot cleaners empty their containers?

I empty mine every 2 or 3 days - it vacuums overnight.

I have a mid range eufy. Love it. Whizzes round after tea each night and sometimes late morning on weekends as well. Keeps on top of things and I'm constantly amazed at how much dust it picks up each day. The house gets a full top to bottom deep Henry hoover once or twice a fortnight.
I empty the chamber every other day and when I do the Henry hoover I give it a spring clean with the hose to clear all the filters etc.
wouldn't be without mine

I have a eufy and I really don’t love it.
It’s erratic where it cleans, doesn’t clean rugs as well as a roomba, staggers to its home when it’s had enough but doesn’t actually align with the charger so I keep discovering it’s not charged when I want it to clean and have just stacked all the chairs and stools up out of its way.

I need to rearrange furniture to stop her getting stuck. And hunt for charger cables and shoe laces as she fights with those.

Between all that and emptying the dust bin and cleaning her filter and untangling the hairs out of her brushes, it doesn’t feel any easier than getting out the big hoover which actually gets all the corners clean without giving cheek.

I can live with hoovering about once a week but if you are an every day/twice a day person I can see how it would be worthwhile.
