How do you dust out of edges of fitted carpets

I moved into a house that had wool carpets throughout, including stairs. It’s kind of nobbly as opposed yo smooth synthetic carpet. I’ve noticed that although we Hoover regularly the edges of rooms and stairs has built up a lot of dust, that isn’t coming out easily, even with the small hoover attachment. Tried using a scrubbing brush which kind of worked to loosen it, but did also damage the carpet loops a bit. Googled for carpet brush thinking maybe there’s a tool for this job but I missed the memo… help! What do you use? Or think might work?

I’ve literally just seen an advert for this tool so it’s quite weird timing! No idea if it will work on wool loop carpets without ruining them though. Maybe ask on the amazon customer questions section or try it on a small hidden section first.

Just use the crevice tool regularly to do the edges to keep on top of it

Unfortunately darkening at the edges is normal, & even professional shampooing may not get it perfect

Rubber glove, slightly wet and rub/pull around edges.

With a baby wipe.

A squeegee?

They may not be dust marks

I've used a rubber broom on my carpet edges successfully. It's brilliant, DH thought it was a fad but he is now a convert.

Thanks, I'll try some of these this week and report back!

Have plenty of built up dust - will experiment with the wet wipe method and rubber glove first before buying anything.

I think there are dark marks (it's a light coloured carpet) but also visible layer of grey dust (have been able to lift it by hand).

Use a damp duster or microfibre cloth - a tip my DM gave me and it’s what I do now.
