Where can you get laundry dosing balls? (Those plastic ball things you put in the washing machine)

I moved into a shared house this year - its great! )no more paying for circuit laundry at uni lol).

But I was wondering where on earth you get those plastic ball thingies that you put bio in with the clothes, in the washing machine? At present I’ve been using the lids of the bio packaging, since now no washing bio sells the plastic balls come with the detergents and stuff anymore.

Does anyone know where I could get one from, or any good alternatives? I’d rather not leave the bio without a lid tbh. It would be a nightmare to clean up :/ tia :)

Pressed send too soon!
Not too much of a powder fan either as most of my clothes are dark so show the streaks of the powder

The dosing ball?
Doesn't it pop out of the lid?

dementedpixie · 17/10/2021 12:26

Maybe you are using too much powder or need to do a maintenance wash on the machine. I dont get marks when using powder but did when using liquids

Depends which liquid is being bought. Some don't come with one

They are usually on the top of some, but not all of the bottles in supermarkets, you might need to look further back to findnone though.

Maflingo · 17/10/2021 12:32

I have a million of them, as I hate throwing them away. pM me your address and I’ll post you a couple!

We just lob the liquid into the drum.

You're right Pixie I've just looked in the shed, mine must be an older bottle.
Never noticed the top is different.

We're not detergent snobs we only use whatever ends up on Tesco staff shelf but I do like the surf liquid best if I'm paying! Amazon own brand bio liquid tabs are good too if you have subs+save discount.

DespairingHomeowner · 17/10/2021 13:38

with surf, when I havent had one I have just used the bottle lid in a pinch with no ill effects (on darks)

but buying a bottle of persil or some other brand & reusing sounds wiser!
