My white quartz worktop keeps getting stubborn marks!

Got a new worktop and it gets marked really easily! I chose quartz because i though it was really tough but it gets marked when I put stuff on it and the marks are really hard to shift, proper elbow grease rubbing etc, any tips or similar experiences? Recent example is a coloured plastic shopping bag pushed across it and it streaked with colour transfer and I now can't get this stain off!

Bar keepers friend gets absolutely everything off my white quartz worktop.

I've only had problems with water marks on our quartz. This week I bought Bar Keepers Friend and it's really good. Would definitely recommend, though it seems odd too that your work tops stain so easily?

We’ve got white quartz - we use magic erasers on it :)

bellsbuss · 08/10/2021 22:38

As pp said bar keepers friend, it will shift anything

Rummikubfan · 08/10/2021 22:42

CIF will remove everything

Bar keepers friend is fab.

I don’t use any of the scratchy ones (certainly not Cif) but just a granite/marble spray. We get water marks but they almost always fade. The only stain I’ve found to be permanent is rust (off the bottom of a metal container) and I’d love any idea for that

Sleepinghyena · 08/10/2021 22:59

Flash magic eraser is worth a try

thetesdybears · 08/10/2021 22:59

Magic sponge or a teeny bit of pink stuff paste. I try not to use these much as I believe it takes the shine out a little. Had ours for 3yrs now and not had anything that I cldnt get out. Please watch out for curry though, Indian curry is the worst, the grease stains too.

I was going to say Bar Keepers friend too. I've had a completey unremovable and quite revolting looking rust stain in my toilet for years. I've tried "everything". Today I gave it a little wipe with bar keepers friend and all gone. I didn't even have to rub very hard.

I don’t have quartz - I have corian - but some things do mark easily. I am now pretty careful with used tea bags, curry (it’s the tumaric, which is a powerful dye) and also cast iron pots…

I agree about bar keepers friend - very effective.

Wow thank you everyone for suggesting bar keeper's friend, amazing stuff!
