my son....about to be 3 is an incorrigible climber about 3 months ago i found him hanging from one leg trapped in one of the drawers he'd pulled out to climb up the chest of drawers in his bedroom i thought the fright would have taught him a lesson but yesterday i found him half way up the same chest of drawers having just done a poo in a drawer full of clean clothes he's just started nursery and still really needs a rest most afternoons the end of that is in sight but i'm haunted by stories of children killed or maimed by pulling furniture over any tips about how to attach furniture to a wall would be gratefully received

YOu can buy those bracket things - you always get them with Ikea bookcases. They are L shaped, one side you screw into the wall and the other half onto your furniture. Ask at your local hardware shop, they should be able to help you.

I would second the brackets. We have two cliffhangers and almost everything (bookcases, dresser, CD towers etc) is bracketed to the wall. DS1 has been known to climb to the top of an 8 shelf bookcase before now.
